The Bills have signed former Bengals and Niners OLB Manny Lawson. The former 1st-round pick saw very limited use with Cincinnati over the past 2 years. Lawson reportedly told his agent at the end of 2012 that he wanted to get back to a 3-4 defense. The Bills hired former Jets DC Mike Pettine in the same role this year and appear to be planning at least a hybrid scheme with 3-4 and 4-3 elements. Lawson can rush the passer and cover RBs and TEs on pass routes. He looks like a 3-down player for Buffalo and a potential deep fantasy football sleeper for your IDP squad.

Bills LB Manny Lawson (hamstring) is doubtful for Sunday's clash with the Saints.  He originally suffered the injury in Week 6 against the Bengals but played through it last week.  After 2 games of playing less than half of his team's defensive snaps, however, Lawson missed practice all week and looks like he'll sit out Week 8.  Jerry Hughes should continue to see extra playing time as a result.
Bills LB Manny Lawson left with a hamstring injury in the 1st half of Sunday's loss to the Bengals.  Chris Brown of the team website reported afterward that Lawson will be re-evaluated Monday.

LB Manny Lawson reached a reported 1-year, $3 million deal with the Bengals on Monday night. After spening his 1st 5 years in San Francisco -- mainly as a 3-4 OLB -- Lawson looks like the strong side favorite in Cincy. He did spend the early part of his Niners career working in a 4-3 front, and Lawson has proved a good coverage player. He shouldn't be in line for much of an IDP impact, though. His contract could be another sign that Rey Maualuga is entrenched at MLB. Maualuga spent the past 2 seasons as the starting SLB.

49ers LB Manny Lawson will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. He went down in practice Wednesday. Ouch. Great player who allowed Mike Nolan to use exotic zone-blitz schemes. The Steelers are not shedding any tears, however, as neither are any of San Fran's future opponents.
