Baltimore has signed former Denver DE Elvis Dumervil for 5 years at $26 million, according to Pro Football Talk. The deal could reportedly be worth as much as $35 million. Even that higher number would still represent $5.5 million less than former Raven Paul Kruger got from Cleveland in free agency. Dumervil fits the Baltimore D the same way Kruger did and Terrell Suggs does: a hybrid DE-OLB. He also brings a more robust pass-rushing history than Kruger. Dumervil tallied 11 sacks in his final Denver season. He racked up a career-high 17 back in 2009, when the Broncos mixed 3-4 and 4-3 fronts. Dumervil played OLB and DE in that setup. He boosts the Baltimore defense for fantasy purposes and retains top-10 upside if he keeps DL eligibility in IDP leagues.
Ravens OLB Elvis Dumervil is officially questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Raiders, but multiple reports have indicated that the team expects him to make his 2016 debut. Dumervil had offseason foot surgery, which kept him out through training camp and the preseason. It's tough to expect his usual productivity right away, and we might even see limited snaps. But his return should help a D that's tied for 8th in the league in sacks. DE Timmy Jernigan is also questionable for Week 4 with a knee issue, but he put in full practices Thursday and Friday. Jernigan seems likely to play.
Ravens OLB Elvis Dumervil took the practice field Monday morning for the 1st time since undergoing offseason foot surgery. We'll see if he gets any preseason game action, but don't be surprised if Baltimore holds out the 32-year-old to make sure he's ready for the regular season. Dumervil's best fantasy fit is in sack-heavy IDP leagues, though he can work as a matchup play in more balanced scoring outfits as well. His presence can only help the pass rush, and thus the Baltimore team D.
Ravens OLB Elvis Dumervil will miss this week's minicamp because of a previously unannounced surgery. "He had what has been termed a preventative procedure," HC John Harbaugh said, per ESPN's Jamison Hensley. "So, he's not ready to go in minicamp. But he'll be ready for training camp." It's not yet clear what Dumervil's operation is seeking to prevent, but Harbaugh said the player will be available to provide more details later. Hensley points out that Dumervil dealt with Achilles' tendinitis during training camp last year.
Ravens OLB Elvis Dumervil is questionable for Sunday's trip to San Francisco. He returned for a limited practice Friday after missing the previous 2 days with a groin injury that knocked him out in Week 5. We'd prefer not to us the Baltimore pass rusher in IDP lineups this weekend, but we'll update his status Sunday in case you're planning to.
Ravens OLB Elvis Dumervil left Sunday's game against the Browns with a groin injury. The team has ruled him out for the day. We'll watch for an official diagnosis early this week. Losing Dumervil would leave an already depleted pass rush barely usable as a fantasy football team defense.
