Titans WR Kendall Wright is dealing with a hamstring injury. He's missed the past week and is expected to be out "a couple more weeks" after an MRI showed fluid in the hammy. Wright wasn't looking like an exciting fantasy option to begin with after seeing his catches and yards dip in 2 straight seasons. At this point, he's not worth a roster spot in standard-sized leagues.
The Vikings are set to release WR Kendall Wright, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Wright lost the battle for 3rd WR duties to Laquon Treadwell. When Minnesota goes 3-wide this season, it'll most often be Treadwell and Stefon Diggs on the outside with Adam Thielen in the slot.
The Vikings signed WR Kendall Wright to a 1-year deal. After fizzling out in Tennessee, Wright revived his value a bit with a 59-614-1 line in Chicago last year. He figures to slide in as Minnesota's #3 WR behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen -- although he'll need to hold off Laquon Treadwell for that spot. Wright won't be much of a fantasy factor without an injury to the 2 guys in front of him on the depth chart.
Bears OC Dowell Loggains confirmed that Kevin White is his #1 WR but suggested it might be a committee effort behind him. "It may be more by committee than it is one guy taking on the Cam Meredith load," Loggains said. "Because I don't know if any [one] guy that's going to be rotating in the rotation is capable of doing that. But we'll do it as a committee, and each guy will have a little role, and each guy will have a package of plays." Kendall Wright looks like the best bet for targets behind White, but he's tough to trust in fantasy lineups out of the gate. Deonte Thompson will also get some run, at least until Markus Wheaton is ready to return from his broken finger.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the Bears have agreed to a 1-year deal with WR Kendall Wright. The former 1st-round pick spent his 1st 5 seasons with the Titans and displayed promise through 3 of them. Wright lost 11 games to injuries over the past 2 years, though, and totaled just 65 receptions over that span. He joins a Bears offense that ran Cameron Meredith primarily from the slot over the 2nd half of last season -- to surprising success -- and still has slot man Eddie Royal on the roster. Royal carries a $5 million salary for 2017, though, and the Chicago Tribune reported earlier this month that the team is is expected to release him. At this point, we'd slot Wright behind Kevin White and Meredith for fantasy -- in an offense unlikely to support 3 worthwhile fantasy wideouts. It's worth noting, at least, that Wright played under Bears OC Dowell Loggains when Loggains piloted Tennessee's offense in 2013. Wright produced career highs in receptions (94) and receiving yards (1,079) that season and ranked 20th among PPR receivers.
Titans WR Kendall Wright is inactive for today's game against the Broncos. He wasn't listed on the final injury report, so he looks like a healthy scratch. Rishard Matthews and Tajae Sharpe will serve as Tennessee's top 2 WRs against Denver's stingy secondary.
Update: Wright was scratched after missing a team meeting on Saturday, according to insider Jim Wyatt.
