Chargers WR Tyrell Williams has seen "heavy" 1st-team work since WR Stevie Johnson suffered his season-ending injury, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune's Michael Gehlken. ESPN's Eric Williams confirmed to us that Williams is currently San Diego's #3 WR. An undrafted rookie last year, Williams got his 1st run in the season finale and hauled in an 80-yard TD. He's a 6'4, 205-pounder who ran a 4.38-second 40-yard dash with a 39.5-inch vertical at his Pro Day. Even as the #3 WR, Williams would likely be no higher than 5th in the target pecking order. But San Diego again figures to be a pass-heavy offense. There's some late-round flier appeal here.
The Lions are placing WR Tyrell Williams on IR for the concussion that kept him out of Monday night's game in Green Bay. That means the veteran receiver will miss at least 3 more contests. Quintez Cephus led Detroit wideouts in targets and worked well ahead of the rest of the group in playing time against the Packers. On top of that, he looks like the best player among them to date. Kalif Raymond and rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown checked in close to each other as the 2nd and 3rd WRs in Green Bay, claiming 63% and 60% of the offensive snaps, respectively.
Lions WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) is out for Sunday's game against the Ravens. The early-rule out 10 days after the concussion is concerning. With Williams out last week, Quintez Cephus led Lions WRs with a 90% route rate, followed by Amon-Ra St. Brown at 72%, Kalif Raymond at 64% and Trinity Benson at 44%. Cephus has opened the season with 3-12-1 and 4-63-1 lines and has worked himself onto the WR4 radar.
Lions WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) is out for Monday night's game vs. the Packers. That leaves Kalif Raymond, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Quintez Cephus and Trinity Benson as Detroit's WRs. TE T.J. Hockenson and RBs D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams are good bets to again finish as the team's top 3 target-getters.
Lions WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) has yet to practice this week and is unlikely to play vs. the Packers on Monday night. That’ll leave Detroit with some combination of WRs Kalif Raymond, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Quintez Cephus and Trinity Benson. Avoid.
