The Patriots on Tuesday released RB Donald Brown. According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Brown had been limited since suffering an injury in the 5th practice of camp. He always looked like a long shot for fantasy relevance after washing out in San Diego. Brown's departure at least takes 1 name out of a crowded backfield that appears ready to hit the season with LeGarrette Blount and James White leading the way.
The Patriots have signed former Chargers RB Donald Brown, according to FOX Sports' Peter Schrager. This might be the only situation in the league that makes us take another look at Brown, who has disappointed for about 6.5 years of his 7-year career. Brown averaged only 3.1 yards per carry and scored 1 total TD over his 2 seasons in San Diego. With Dion Lewis, James White and Brandon Bolden already on hand, Brown has some work to do to make himself relevant in his new home. We'd bet that the Patriots aren't done shaping their 2016 backfield yet, though.
The Chargers re-signed RB Donald Brown on Monday, just 2 days after releasing him. The Union-Tribune reports that the team dumped him to create a roster opening for some O-line depth Sunday against the Browns. San Diego told Brown it planned to bring him back this week -- and he apparently felt the same way. So he can go back to being fantasy irrelevant with the Chargers.
The Chargers on Saturday released RB Donald Brown. It's not a surprising move, given that Brown has yet to see the field this year. He proved to be a waste of free-agent dollars after coming over from Indy before the 2014 season. We'll see if another team wants to give the 28-year-old a 3rd chance.
Chargers RB Donald Brown has been cleared to return to action after missing the past 3 games with a concussion. He practiced Wednesday for the 1st time since suffering the injury Oct. 5. Don't expect Brown to steal too much work from Branden Oliver, who has way outperformed the veteran since stepping in.
Chargers RB Donald Brown (concussion) has been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Broncos. He's yet to resume practicing and has no timetable for return. Branden Oliver will once again serve as San Diego's feature back but is more of a RB2 this week against a tough Denver run defense.
