The Steelers have placed TE Ladarius Green on the PUP list for the regular season, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan. That's no big surprise after he failed to take the field at all since signing with the team in free agency. Both sides have said the ankle he had surgery on back in January is the issue, despite offseason reports about lingering concussion symptoms. The PUP designation means that Green will miss at least the 1st 6 games. After that, the Steelers will have 3 weeks to activate him or move him to IR. Fantasy football owners should not be drafting the once-enticing Green. Jesse James is the late-round TE option in Pittsburgh's high-upside passing offense.
The Steelers have released TE Ladarius Green. That they made the move now suggests that Green just wasn't making the progress the Steelers were hoping for. He missed all but 6 games last year with concussion and ankle issues. His 4 career concussions are obviously the bigger concern and have Green's career on the ropes. We'll continue to keep an eye on a guy who has difference-making potential when healthy. Jesse James, meanwhile, looks like Pittsburgh's starting TE moving forward. He's worth a look as a lower-end TE2 in best-ball drafts.
Steelers TE Ladarius Green is participating in the team's offseason workouts this week, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Green missed 10 games last year with ankle and concussion issues. He's suffered 4 concussions as a pro, clouding his football future. Pittsburgh is at least hoping he's able to return for the 2017 season. We'll see how Green fares throughout the rest of the spring and summer. He's a high-upside fantasy option when healthy.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette believes there's a chance the Steelers cut ties with TE Ladarius Green this offseason. Green just inked a 4-year, $20 million deal with Pittsburgh last March. But he missed the majority of the offseason and appeared in just 6 games with ankle and concussion issues. The concussions -- Green has sustained 4 as a pro -- are a major concern. We'll keep an eye on the situation this offseason. Green looked dangerous when he was on the field in 2016 and still boasts big fantasy upside if healthy.
Steelers TE Ladarius Green (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship against the Patriots. He returned to a limited practice on Friday after sitting out Thursday. Frankly, though, we'd be shocked if Green was cleared to play in New England.
Steelers TE Ladarius Green (concussion) did not practice on Thursday. It's the 2nd straight time he was sidelined the day after putting in a limited workout. Green can't shake this concussion problem. He won't play against the Patriots on Sunday, and there's certainly concern for his long-term outlook.
