Williams likes his fit in the offense | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Bills RB Jonathan Williams likes how he fits in new OC Rick Dennison's zone-blocking scheme. “There’s a lot of room for you to use your instincts,” Williams said. “It’s that stretch, one step, downhill cut and I think that fits my game just because that’s the type of back I am. A lot of people think I’m a big bruiser, but I feel I’m more of a slasher and I feel like slashing fits this offense.” Williams will head to training camp as the favorite for the #2 RB job. That spot has produced a pair of top-31 non-PPR RBs (and top 40 in PPR) over the last 2 seasons in Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee. Williams could present some standalone fantasy value in 2017 -- and be a weekly starter if LeSean McCoy goes down.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Colts RB Jonathan Williams will start tonight's game against the Texans. Williams has been "killing the Colts' 1st-team defense" in practice throughout the year, Rapoport adds. This, of course, doesn't mean that RB Jordan Wilkins won't be involved. And RB Nyheim Hines will continue to play in passing situations. But it does make Williams the best fantasy bet of the trio.

The Saints on Saturday promoted RB Jonathan Williams from the practice squad. It continues a weird circuit that started with him looking like Mark Ingram's main fill-in, then found him cut and signed to the practice squad. We'll see exactly how Saints RB touches get allotted in the opener. Don't trust any New Orleans RB beyond Alvin Kamara in fantasy lineups.

The Saints have cut RB Jonathan Williams, who seemed on track to pick up early carries in Mark Ingram's absence. Williams' departure leaves Trey Edmunds and rookie Boston Scott as potential early touch collectors during Ingram's 4-game suspension. Don't go out of your way to draft any non-starting Saints RB over the next week, though.

The Saints have signed RB Jonathan Williams off Denver's practice squad, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 2nd-year back was surprisingly cut by Buffalo before the season and hadn't been heard from since. He obviously has no immediate fantasy value in New Orleans. But an injury to either Mark Ingram or Alvin Kamara could change that.

The Broncos have signed RB Jonathan Williams to their practice squad. The 2nd-year back was surprisingly cut by the Bills over the weekend and then went unclaimed on waivers. Williams looked good all preseason, averaging 5.8 yards per carry, and remains an intriguing prospect. He has major depth-chart climbing to do in Denver, but there's opportunity in an unsettled backfield. We'll continue to keep an eye on him.
