The Boston Herald's Karen Guregian reports that Patriots QB Tom Brady "jammed" his throwing hand when he ran into a teammate during Wednesday's practice. X-rays on the hand revealed no structural damage, per Guregian. Colleague Jeff Howe hears that Brady will play against the Jaguars on Sunday, "barring an unexpected setback." We'll continue to keep a close eye on this one.
The NFL has moved this week's Bucs-Raiders game from Sunday at 8:20 pm ET to 4:05 pm ET. The league is clearly concerned about Vegas' COVID outbreak and the possibility that this game needs to be postponed. We'll keep an eye on that. Meanwhile, the Seahawks-Cardinals game has been moved to Sunday night. The only fantasy impact there is that the game will no longer be on the DFS main slate.
Tom Brady has agreed to a contract with the Buccaneers, according to multiple outlets. Tampa Bay has been rumored to be a finalist for a while now and holds the upside of 1 of the league's top WR duos in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Brady will also work with longtime NFL coach Bruce Arians. It's tough to say whether Brady impacts the fantasy outlooks for his new receivers, given that we've never seen him outside of New England. Reagardless of QB play, though, it's unlikely that both Evans and Godwin continue to deliver fantasy points at the WR1 level. Brady's arrival officially means we'll see Jameis Winston don a new uniform. His departure from New England also leaves Jarrett Stidham at the top of the current depth chart. We'll see if/how the Patriots choose to address the position further this offseason.
ESPN's Jeff Darlington believes the Titans are the favorites to land QB Tom Brady in free agency. Darlington has Las Vegas and then New England as Brady's next 2 most likely destinations. Brady would be reuniting with HC Mike Vrabel and GM Jon Robinson in Tennessee -- and joining an offense that's built around the running game. This move would obviously mean QB Ryan Tannehill would be one-and-done with the Titans. The QB carousel this offseason will be fascinating.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says Patriots QB Tom Brady's elbow injury is "a thing." We haven't heard much about the issue, but Brady has been listed on the injury report for the past 3 weeks now. "His practice time has been pretty limited as he nurses that elbow injury," Rapoport adds. Brady was sporting a huge wrap on the throwing elbow after Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. The 42-year-old has completed just 51.5% of his passes and averaged 5.4 yards per attempt over his last 4 games. Despite a plus matchup against the Bengals, Brady isn't a recommended QB1 for Week 15.
