ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Bears rookie ILB Roquan Smith and OLB Khalil Mack will not play the whole game Sunday night against the Packers. Mack, of course, recently joined the team after holding out through August. Smith arrived mid-August after an extended negotiation over his rookie deal, and then lost time to a hamstring issue. Each should show up some on the stat sheet and remains a potential full-season IDP stud. But it's tough to trust either new Bears defender in Week 1 IDP lineups.
Bears DL Akiem Hicks (knee) and LB Roquan Smith are inactive for today's game against the Vikings. Hicks' deactivation is no surprise. He missed practice all week after suffering a knee injury in Week 3. Smith had no injury designation throughout the week. It's not yet clear what's going on with him, though it's been reported as a "personal issue." Expect Nick Kwiatkoski to start in Smith's place.
As expected, Bears S Adrian Amos (hamstring), DT Eddie Goldman (hip) and OLB Pernell McPhee (shoulder) are all inactive for today's game against the Bengals. All 3 entered the weekend doubtful. None of the 3 losses significantly alters the matchup for a mostly sluggish Cincinnati offense.
Bears S Adrian Amos (hamstring) and DT Eddie Goldman (hip) are doubtful for Sunday's game against the Bengals. Goldman isn't much of an IDP option even when healthy, but his absence can only help Cincinnati RB Giovani Bernard. Amos has been a top fantasy DB when healthy but is expected to miss his 2nd straight game. The D will also likely miss OLB Pernell McPhee, who is doubtful with a shoulder injury.
Bears ILB Danny Trevathan is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Eagles with the calf injury that cost him the past 2 games. That means another start for Nick Kwiatkoski inside next to Christian Jones. Both continue to be playable in IDP leagues. DE Akiem Hicks (knee) is questionable for the game. He returned for a limited practice Friday after missing the previous 2 days but told the Chicago Tribune that it was "just a little bit of maintenance" and that he expects to play. Hicks is worth waiting on for your IDP lineups.
Bears CB Prince Amukamara (ankle) is out for the 2nd straight game Sunday against the Bucs. OLB Leonard Floyd (back) is active, though, after entering the day questionable.
Is Devonta Freeman too popular a pick this week? And is it really time to rely on the Buccaneers' defense? This is a funny game.
