Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 4 after getting in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. He went through the same routine last week before playing 96% of the snaps against the Bears. He'll play on Sunday vs. Seattle, but Arizona's offensive woes have reduced Fitz to WR3 status.
Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald has been struck by the tempo of new HC Kliff Kingsbury's offense. "It's not so much what he's installing that stands out; it's how its run, the tempo of it," Fitzgerald said. "Every single day, with more experience, we were able to run it faster and faster and faster, get more plays in more efficiently. The faster guys understand the concepts the more pressure we can put on defenses." That's perhaps the most exciting aspect of Arizona's offense this season. The 2018 Cardinals ranked 31st in offensive snaps. The 2019 Cardinals should make a big move up those rankings, maybe even into the top 10. It's a reason to be excited about guys like Kyler Murray, David Johnson, Christian Kirk and Fitzgerald.
Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury said WR Larry Fitzgerald and QB Kyler Murray have quickly developed chemistry. "Yeah, I just think he’s a security blanket,” Kingsbury said of Fitz. “There’s a comfort level there. If you get it close, he’s going to make a play for you. A big body in traffic, across the middle, for a young QB? You know he’s going to make a big play and that goes a long way." Fitzgerald will turn 36 before Week 1 and is coming off a 30th-place PPR finish, his worst since 2014. Christian Kirk is the highest-upside in the desert this season and sits higher in our WR rankings. But it's certainly within the realm of possibility that Fitz leads the team in catches and fantasy points this season. He's a fine pick at his 8th-round ADP.
The Cardinals announced Wednesday that WR Larry Fitzgerald has re-signed on a 1-year deal and will play in 2019. Fitz lopped 50 targets, 40 receptions and 422 yards off his 2017 totals this past season, in the 1st year with QB Josh Rosen and only season under former HC Steve Wilks' staff. A full offseason with Rosen can only help, and the switch to former QB Kliff Kingsbury can't hurt after Arizona trotted out the league's worst offense a year ago. That said, we shouldn't count on Fitzgerald to jump back to anywhere near his 3 recent campaigns of more than 100 catches. Heading into his age-36 season, Fitzgerald figures to compete with 2018 rookie Christian Kirk for lead-target status. We'll see if Arizona adds to the WR corps in free agency or the draft. Fitz is a solid shot to take around his early 150.3 ADP in PlayDraft best-ball leagues, though that figures to climb now that his return is confirmed.
Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring, back) is active for today’s game against the 49ers. He’s not close to 100% right now and is shaky WR3.
Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald is expected to play Sunday against the 49ers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He's officially questionable with the hamstring injury but has played through the issue for multiple games.
