Hopkins expected to play Week 4 | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins is expected to play against the Colts today. He's on the injury report with thumb, ankle and hamstring issues, but there was never any concern about his availability. Keep Hopkins glued into fantasy lineups.

The Texans are set to trade WR DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Wow. Hopkins is an elite receiver in the prime of his career with 3 years remaining on a manageable contract. It's a mind-boggling move by the Texans, leaving Will Fuller and Kenny Stills atop the depth chart for now. Those 2 are big winners here, while QB Deshaun Watson's fantasy stock takes a significant hit. QB Kyler Murray, meanwhile, gets the legitimate #1 WR that he was missing last year. He looks like a top-5 QB in 2020 fantasy drafts. Hopkins should easily remain a WR1 in a pass-leaning offense piloted by an accurate QB.

Update: Schefter reports that the Cardinals are receiving Hopkins and a late-round pick in exchange for RB David Johnson and a 2nd-rounder. Other picks are involved in the trade. Hopkins is expected to get a new contract from Arizona.

Update: The Houston Chronicle's John McClain reports it's Hopkins and a 4th-round pick to Arizona for Johnson, a 2020 2nd-rounder and a 2021 4th-rounder.

Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins has been activated from the PUP list. He was reportedly dealing with a minor ankle issue, but it's not a concern now. Hopkins has missed just 1 game through 6 NFL seasons.

The Texans have placed WR DeAndre Hopkins on the active/PUP list to begin training camp. Hopkins is coming off a shoulder injury that included tearing ligaments from the bone. He avoided offseason surgery, though, and has indicated he expects to be feeling better this season than he did last. Hopkins played through a foot issue as well for most of 2018. We'll watch him through camp but aren't currently worried for his regular-season status.

Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins revealed that he played through serious pain in 2018. "Last year was tough, not just physically but mentally," Hopkins said Saturday, via the Houston Chronicle. "It's the most banged up I've ever been playing football. I was dealing with serious injuries a lot of people would have sat down for. But we had a good team that depended on me, and I never gave a thought to not playing unless the doctors told me I couldn’t." Hopkins also shared that he tore ligaments in his shoulder “completely off the bone.” Wow. The 27-year-old set career highs with 115 catches and 1,572 yards last season. He’s fully expected to be ready for training camp.

Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins told NFL Network's James Palmer that he suffered a Grade 3 sprain of the AC joint in his right shoulder in the 1st half of Saturday's playoff loss to the Colts. Hopkins played in the 2nd half but didn't look quite right. He finished with 5 catches for 37 yards on 10 targets. It was a disappointing end to a brilliant campaign. Hopkins led all WR in PPR points this season, finishing 2nd in catches, 2nd in yards and 4th in TDs. And he played all 16 games for the 5th time in 6 tries. Hopkins will be in the mix to be the 1st WR off the board in 2019 fantasy drafts.
