The Jets have placed RB Bilal Powell on IR with the neck injury he suffered in last week's loss to the Vikings. He's not eligible to return until Week 16, if he's able to return at all. Powell can safely be dropped from fantasy rosters. He was averaging 11.4 carries and 2.6 targets per game this season, so it's a significant loss. RB Isaiah Crowell should soak up most of those carries. Trenton Cannon stepped in as the pass-catching back in Week 7, hauling in 4 of 5 targets for 69 yards. RB Elijah McGuire seems close to returning from the broken foot he suffered in late July and could re-emerge as a fantasy factor in the 2nd half of the season.
Jets RB Bilal Powell suffered a neck injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the Vikings and has been ruled out. That should leave Isaiah Crowell in a 3-down role.
Jets RB Bilal Powell (calf) put in full practices on Thursday and Friday and isn’t listed on the final Week 7 injury report. He’ll play against the Dolphins this weekend, although the workload split between him, Matt Forte and Elijah McGuire is uncertain. Powell is the best fantasy bet of the trio but is just a RB3 or flex play.
Jets RB Bilal Powell (calf) put in a full practice on Thursday. He's on track to return for this weekend's game against the Dolphins. How touches will be divvied in the Jets backfield is anyone's guess, though. Powell is the preferred fantasy play over Matt Forte and Elijah McGuire, but he's no more than a RB3 or flex.
Jets RB Bilal Powell (calf) is inactive for today’s game against the Patriots. RB Matt Forte (toe) is active and figures to form a committee with Elijah McGuire. Both guys are shaky fantasy options, but we prefer McGuire as the more explosive player.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Jets RB Bilal Powell (calf) is not expected to play against the Patriots today. That leaves touches available for Elijah McGuire and Matt Forte, but this hasn't been a high-volume backfield when the Jets have trailed. As heavy underdogs against New England, there's a chance for a pass-saturated approach. Add that to the uncertainty of how McGuire and Forte will split the work, and each Jets back makes for a risky fantasy play -- but an option, if you need one.
