Chargers WR Tyrell Williams (groin) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game against the Steelers. He was active with this injury last week but played just 9 snaps. He can’t be trusted in Week 13 fantasy lineups. WR Mike Williams should play an expanded role again on Sunday night.
The Raiders have agreed to a deal with former Chargers WR Tyrell Williams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Williams' playing time dipped by a few percentage points each of the past 2 years. And he went from 119 targets with Keenan Allen out in 2016 to just 69 and 65 the past 2 years. Oakland gives him the chance to settle in as the 2nd target behind WR Antonio Brown, though Williams will need to fend off WR Jordy Nelson for that role. TE Jared Cook led the 2018 Raiders in targets but will hit unrestricted free agency this afternoon. Williams adds upside to Raiders QB Derek Carr, giving Carr a pass-catcher with the ability to win deep and create yards after the catch.
Update: Schefter reports it's a 4-year, $44 million deal with $22 million guaranteed and a max value of $47 million. That certainly points to Williams serving as the team's #2 target.
Chargers WR Tyrell Williams (groin) is active for tonight’s game against the Steelers. He played just 9 snaps with his injury last week, so Williams can’t be trusted in fantasy lineups.
Chargers HC Anthony Lynn said WR Tyrell Williams was held out of Saturday night's preseason game with a "sore groin" and is "day-to-day." This doesn't seem like a significant issue but will be worth keeping an eye on over the next couple of weeks. Williams remains a nice value at his 9th-round ADP.
Chargers WR Tyrell Williams caught just 2 passes for the 2nd straight game in Sunday's loss to the Panthers. His 5 targets tied for just 4th on the team. Williams did go for 68 yards, including a 46-yard gain on 1 of his receptions. We'll be interested to see his Week 14 snap count. Williams played all but 2 snaps in Week 13 and then put in a full practice before the Carolina game. His involvement the past 2 weeks, though, leaves us wondering if his shoulder injury is getting in the way. Positive matchups the rest of the way will probably keep Williams in fantasy lineups as long as he doesn't see his playing time decline.
Chargers WR Tyrell Williams (shoulder) is active for today’s game against the Bucs. He only practiced on Friday and certainly won’t be at 100% as he battles a torn labrum. Consider Williams a risk/reward WR2 for Week 13.
