Buccaneers DE Jason Pierre-Paul (knee) is active for today's game against the Saints. He put in just a limited practice Friday and carries some extra risk into an already low-floor matchup. Consider other options for your IDP lineup today.

Buccaneers DE Jason Pierre-Paul (knee) is active for today's game against the Eagles. He began the practice week sidelined but returned to practice Thursday and Friday. He appears fine for normal IDP use.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Buccaneers consider DE Jason Pierre-Paul's knee injury to be minor. That suggests JPP should be able to play through his "questionable" tag against the Eagles today. We'll confirm his status when early-game inactives come out, but plan to use Pierre-Paul as you normally would in IDP leagues.

Buccaneers DE Jason Pierre-Paul is questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles with a knee injury. He put in limited practices Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. We'll see about JPP's status Sunday morning.

Buccaneers DE Jason Pierre-Paul missed practice Wednesday and had a brace on his right knee. The specific injury? "My knee is jacked up. Banged up," Pierre-Paul told Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. "Ask me if I can play Sunday, I don't know." Guess we'll see how the jacked-up knee progresses. Losing JPP would hurt the already boom/bust outlook for the Bucs team D, but you'd be buying the turnover upside on Eagles QB Nick Foles more than the Bucs' sack potential.

The Buccaneers on Thursday traded a 3rd-round pick -- plus a swap of late-rounders -- to the Giants for DE Jason Pierre-Paul. The 29-year-old carries a large contract and didn't fit as well in the Giants' new 3-4 base defense. JPP remained a productive pass-rusher last year, though Pro Football Focus graded him lower than former Bucs DE Robert Ayers both overall and in the pass rush. Tampa, of course, recently released Ayers. Pierre-Paul will likely start opposite Vinny Curry, with DE William Gholston still in the mix. The Bucs defense certainly looks more intriguing now, while JPP remains a top-12 D-lineman for IDP drafting.
