The Giants have ruled WR Odell Beckham out for Sunday's game at Indianapolis. That will once again leave Sterling Shepard as the de facto lead wideout. Shepard absorbed 9 targets in that role last week but caught just 2 balls for the 2nd straight game. Beckham's absence helps the volume outlook but doesn't turn Shepard into a strong option. TE Evan Engram, on the other hand, has topped 70 receiving yards in each of the 2 games Beckham has missed -- including last week's 12-target, 8-catch outing. He gets a better matchup than his WR teammates against a Colts D that ranks 7th worst vs. TEs in our adjusted fantasy points allowed.

Recent Shark Bites

Browns WR Odell Beckham underwent core muscle surgery on Tuesday, the team announced. He reportedly played the entire 2019 campaign with a sports hernia. That helps to explain OBJ's disappointing season, although there were certainly other issues. We'll keep an eye on his rehab -- and then how he's fitting into new HC Kevin Stefanski's offense. Beckham could be a value in 2020 fantasy drafts and is an interesting trade target in dynasty leagues this offseason.

Browns WR Odell Beckham is questionable for today's finale against the Bengals primarily because of food poisoning late in the week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. But Rapoport adds that "the believe is his condition has improved enough so he can be on the field today." Sounds like we could very well get a weakened version of Beckham, though -- from the already disappointing version we've gotten all year.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Browns WR Odell Beckham is "playing through a painful sports hernia that will need surgery after the season." That couldn't certainly help to explain why the star WR has underwhelmed all year. Beckham indicated earlier this week that the issue has dogged him since training camp. Beckham remains a fantasy starter for today's matchup against the Bengals. But you might want to consider this news as you make the close calls to finalize your Week 14 lineup.

Browns WR Odell Beckham (hip) isn’t listed on the final Week 1 injury report. He practiced in full all week but admitted that he still hasn’t gone 100% since suffering the hip injury. OBJ will be worth watching closely in Sunday’s opener against the Titans, but he should be locked into fantasy lineups.

Browns WR Odell Beckham returned to the practice field Monday. He had missed most of the previous 3 weeks while dealing with a hip pointer. HC Freddie Kitchens told Cleveland.com that Beckham had been "working on the side." The return gives Beckham nearly 2 weeks to get ready for the regular-season opener.
