WR Golden Tate has inked a 4-year, $37.5 million deal with the Giants, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Tate will get $23 million fully guaranteed. He hung around on the open market a bit longer than expected but ends up making more per year than John Brown, Adam Humphries and Cole Beasley. Tate's raw numbers were down last season between Detroit and Philadelphia, but he still ranked 2nd among WRs with 50+ targets in missed tackles forced per catch and 4th in yards-after-catch average. He'll need to deal with a washed-up Eli Manning, but Tate shouldn't hurt for targets in a WR corps with very little besides Sterling Shepard.
The Eagles have acquired WR Golden Tate from the Lions in exchange for a 3rd-round pick. Tate figures to keep his slot role in Philly, pushing Nelson Agholor to the outside. He's unlikely to match the 9.9 targets per game he's averaged in Detroit so far this season, though, with Agholor, Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz to contend with. Tate looks like more of a WR3 with big-game potential the rest of the way. His arrival is a nice boost for QB Carson Wentz. Meanwhile in Detroit, both Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay are in for big volume boosts. T.J. Jones is the favorite to step into the #3 WR role but is a long shot to be a fantasy factor.
Lions WR Golden Tate (hip) is active for today’s game against the Cowboys. He comes with elevated risk after being added to the injury report on Friday but is still worth using in most fantasy lineups.
Lions WR Golden Tate (hip) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Cowboys. He was added to the injury report and limited in practice on Friday. We'll look for updates on his status and will find out whether he’s active by noon ET on Sunday.
Lions WR Golden Tate (shoulder) is active for tonight’s game against the Steelers. He put in 3 limited practices this week and won’t be at 100% for this one. Throw in a matchup with the league’s #1 WR defense, and Tate looks like just a WR3 for Week 8.
Lions WR Golden Tate (shoulder) is "pushing to play" against the Steelers tonight, and it "could happen," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Signs have been pointing to Tate being active for the past few days, but we won't know for sure until 7 pm ET tonight. That -- plus a matchup with the league's top-ranked WR defense -- would make us want to avoid him if possible.
