Tate joins Giants | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

WR Golden Tate has inked a 4-year, $37.5 million deal with the Giants, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Tate will get $23 million fully guaranteed. He hung around on the open market a bit longer than expected but ends up making more per year than John Brown, Adam Humphries and Cole Beasley. Tate's raw numbers were down last season between Detroit and Philadelphia, but he still ranked 2nd among WRs with 50+ targets in missed tackles forced per catch and 4th in yards-after-catch average. He'll need to deal with a washed-up Eli Manning, but Tate shouldn't hurt for targets in a WR corps with very little besides Sterling Shepard.

Recent Shark Bites

Giants WR Golden Tate (concussion) put in a full week of practice and will play against the Eagles on Monday night. He's averaged 8.1 targets, 5.1 catches and 64 yards per game this season -- although that's all come with QB Daniel Jones.

Giants WR Golden Tate (concussion) put in a full practice on Thursday. He's on track to return for Monday night's game against the Eagles. Tate has averaged 8.1 targets, 5.1 catches and 64 yards per game this season -- although that's all come with QB Daniel Jones.

Giants WR Golden Tate (concussion) is out for Sunday's game against the Packers. He leaves behind 8.1 targets per game. With TEs Evan Engram (foot) and Rhett Ellison (concussion) also out, there's a lot of volume to go around for WR Sterling Shepard, WR, Darius Slayton, RB Saquon Barkley and TE Kaden Smith.

Giants WR Golden Tate (concussion) didn't practice on Wednesday. That's not a good start in his quest to get cleared in time for this weekend's game against the Packers. Fantasy owners should be making other plans at this point.

The Giants announced Monday that WR Golden Tate is in the concussion protocol. He sustained the head injury on his 4th-quarter TD in yesterday's loss to the Bears. We'll track Tate's progress through the protocol, but fantasy owners should plan on being without him in Week 13 for now.
