Free-agent RB Alex Collins revealed that he recently broke his leg. "I have already begun the healing and rehab process, and I fully trust God’s plan for me. I look forward to getting back to playing football and doing what I love most," Collins added. The 24-year-old was released by the Ravens in March, shortly after he was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and a firearm. There are a bunch of roadblocks between Collins and a return to fantasy relevance.
The Seahawks have elevated RB Alex Collins from the practice squad to the active roster, putting him in the mix for Sunday's game against the Bills. We wouldn't bet on him becoming a fantasy factor himself, but Seattle could spread touches among Collins, a healthier Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas enough to weaken Dallas' fantasy outlook. It looks at least like a potentially fluid situation.
The Ravens waived RB Alex Collins Friday, hours after he was arrested following a car crash in Maryland. We have yet to see details on the specific charges facing Collins, but Baltimore likely didn't need much motivation to move on from the veteran. Collins totaled just 114 carries and 15 receptions over 10 games before a foot injury landed him on IR. Gus Edwards then took over the backfield, and Kenneth Dixon grew his role late in the year. We'll see whether the Ravens add another piece or 2 this offseason. And we'll see whether Collins gets a shot at returning to fantasy relevance.
The Ravens have placed RB Alex Collins on IR with the foot injury that cost him last week's game. He reportedly won't need surgery. The team is also activating RB Kenneth Dixon from IR. He's been out since suffering a knee injury back in Week 1 but could see time Sunday against the Falcons, especially with RB Gus Edwards entering the game questionable. We expect Edwards to play, especially after he finished the week with a full practice. Dixon is a pickup option for many leagues, though, as an Edwards handcuff or Collins replacement. Buck Allen remains in the mix as well.
Ravens RB Alex Collins (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. So it looks like it was the foot that kept him out of last weekend's game against the Raiders -- rather than being a healthy scratch. We'll see if Collins is ready for Sunday's game in Atlanta, but he's lost the lead job to Gus Edwards.
Ravens RB Alex Collins (foot) is active for today’s game against the Steelers. He put in a full practice on Friday, and we never heard any concern about his status. Collins is a low-end RB2 in this tough matchup.
