The Jets have ruled LB C.J. Mosley out for Week 3. He remained out of practice all week with the groin injury he suffered in the opener. Mosley's absence raises the tackle ceiling for fellow ILB Neville Hewitt.
Jets HC Adam Gase said Monday that ILB C.J. Mosley will miss the next 5-6 weeks with his groin injury, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. The report added, "No surgery for now." That implies surgery remains an option. If the Jets continue to disappoint over the next 5-6 weeks, then they and Mosley might decide it's not worth bringing him back this season. Mosley looks droppable for most redraft IDP leagues. Rookie Blake Cashman should maintain his starting role for at least those 5-6 weeks. ILB Neville Hewitt (neck, knee) missed Week 8 but took part in limited practices all last week and seems to be nearing a return. We'll watch his status leading up to Sunday's visit to Miami.
Jets LB C.J. Mosley left Monday night's loss to the Patriots in the 4th quarter, still feeling the effects of his Week 1 groin injury. And then he wasn't on the field for Wednesday's practice. "The doctors are doing a really deep dive, trying to figure out where things are coming from," HC Adam Gase said before practice, according to the team website. "It might just be more than a groin. We're just trying to figure all that stuff out." It doesn't sound like we should count on Mosley being available for Week 8. That would mean another start for rookie Blake Cashman -- and maybe more. Neville Hewitt (neck, knee), who missed Monday night's game, returned to a limited workout Wednesday. We'll see if Hewitt can make it back to face Jacksonville on Sunday.
Jets LB C.J. Mosley is active for tonight's game against the Patriots. He has been out since leaving the Week 1 loss to the Bills with a groin injury. Mosley returns to a lineup that will not include fellow ILB Neville Hewitt, who is out with neck and knee injuries.
The Jets officially listed LB C.J. Mosley as not participating in practice Thursday. But the veteran LB took part in individual drills, according to multiple reports. Afterward, per The Associated Press, he declared: "I'm playing Monday night. Unless I get hurt or something, I'm playing." Mosley hasn't hit the field since leaving Week 1 with a groin injury. Returning Monday night would pit him against a Patriots offense that has been a tackle-heavy top-10 scoring matchup for fantasy LBs so far. We'll continue to watch Mosley's participation through the weekend to gauge the risk for IDP lineups.
Jets LB C.J. Mosley is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. He still has yet to even return to practice since his Week 1 groin injury. That means another start for Blake Cashman. The rookie saw his playing time slip to 76% of the snaps. Cashman can still be a tackle option in deeper leagues but is nothing special as an IDP.
