Seahawks RB Chris Carson (shoulder) isn't listed on the final Week 6 injury report. He was added on Thursday but put in a full practice on Friday. He's safe to keep in fantasy lineups for Sunday's game against the Browns. RB Rashaad Penny (hamstring) is listed as questionable, despite putting in full practices all week. We'll check on his status Sunday morning.
Seahawks RB Chris Carson was added to the injury report on Thursday as limited with a shoulder. ESPN's Brady Henderson notes that the team made Carson available to the media, "something they typically don't do with players whose statuses are in serious question." Carson should be fine for Sunday's game against the Browns, but check back tomorrow for another update.
Seahawks HC Pete Carroll threw his support behind RB Chris Carson on Monday. "Because we do believe in him, we're going to continue to show him that," Carroll said. Carson lost his 3rd fumble of the season in yesterday's loss to the Saints, but it sounds like Seattle is sticking with him as the lead back. It's worth noting that Carson fumbled just 3 times on 323 touches across his first 2 NFL seasons.
Seahawks OC Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that he's looking to get RB Chris Carson more targets this year. "We need to get him more involved in the passing game," Schotty said. "He’s got unbelievable hands, and he’s a problem for people coming out of the backfield." Carson saw just 24 targets last season but caught 20 of them for 162 yards (8.2 YPC). He ranked 19th in Pro Football Focus' receiving grades among 62 RBs with 20+ targets. Carson has reportedly been splitting out wide in camp -- something he rarely did last year. Increased passing-game usage would obviously be a boon to Carson's season-long upside and week-to-week reliability. He remains a nice value at his mid-5th-round ADP.
Seahawks RB Chris Carson participated in the 1st training camp practice on Thursday. He spent the offseason recovering from knee surgery but took the first rep in 11 on 11 drills. We'll keep a close eye on his battle with 2nd-year man Rashaad Penny.
Seahawks RB Chris Carson "had some work done" on his knee this offseason, HC Pete Carroll revealed Tuesday. That's "surgery" in Carroll-speak. Carroll added that Carson will only be out "a couple more weeks," so it sounds like he'll be ready in plenty of time for training camp. Carson's absence creates some added opportunity for Rashaad Penny, but Carson still figures to open camp atop the depth chart.
