Raiders WR Tyrell Williams (foot) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Texans. OC Greg Olson suggested on Thursday that Williams is likely to return for this one. It’s a 4:25 pm ET kickoff, but hopefully we get an update on Sunday morning. If active, Williams will be a risk/reward WR3 at less than 100% in a plus matchup.

Recent Shark Bites

The Lions have agreed to a 1-year deal with WR Tyrell Williams worth "up to $6.2 million," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That lands the former Raider and Charger with a Detroit offense set to have Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola all reach free agency. Even if the Lions re-sign or franchise-tag Golladay, there's clear opportunity for Williams. The wideout lost 18 games to injury over his 2 years with the Raiders, including a torn shoulder labrum that cost him all of last season. When healthy, though, Williams has averaged 16.1 yards per catch for his career and scored on an above-average 11.7% of his receptions. He just turned 29 in February. We'll see what else Detroit adds -- and/or retains -- to the pass-catching corps. Williams is a fine shot to take near the end of best-ball drafts right now, though.

The Raiders will release WR Tyrell Williams at the start of the new league year next month, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. It'll save $10.6 million against the cap. Williams missed the entire 2020 season with a torn labrum in his shoulder. He turned 29 today but was still effective when we last saw him in 2019, averaging 15.5 yards per catch and scoring 6 times on 42 grabs. We'll see where Williams lands.

Raiders WR Tyrell Williams will undergo surgery on the torn labrum in his shoulder and has been placed on IR, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. So Williams is out for the 2020 campaign. That opens the door for rookie WR Bryan Edwards to start at the 'X' spot for Las Vegas. He's a nice late-round flier in fantasy drafts. Edwards figures to be joined by Henry Ruggs and Hunter Renfrow in 3-WR sets.

Raiders WR Tyrell Williams has a torn labrum in his shoulder, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Williams will "try to play through it after rehabbing for a few weeks," Rapoport adds. It's a commendable move by Williams but obviously adds a ton of risk to his fantasy outlook. We just dropped him in the WR rankings. The biggest beneficiary of Williams' absence would likely be rookie WR Bryan Edwards, who's had a good camp so far. He's an intriguing late-round flier.

Raiders WR Tyrell Williams said Wednesday that he's “over the hump” from the plantar fasciitis that bothered him for most of last season. He's doing "daily maintenance" to make sure the soreness doesn't return. Williams was clearly hampered by the issue last year. But he averaged 6 targets, 4.3 catches, 54 yards and 1 TD when he was healthy over the first 4 games. Williams faces more target competition this season after Vegas added rookie WRs Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards. But he should still be a full-time player as 1 of the team's top 3 WRs. Williams is an easy value at his WR80 ADP.
