WR Antonio Brown has been suspended 8 games for multiple violations of the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy. Brown, of course, remains a free agent. And this suspension won't help his chances of finding a job. He's not worth considering in fantasy drafts right now.
The Buccaneers have agreed to a 1-year deal with WR Antonio Brown, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "Language still has to be finalized, COVID protocols passed, but Brown is likely to make his Bucs' debut in Week 9 against the Saints," Schefter adds. Brown joins a loaded offense that figures to cap his target ceiling, but he also has at least some experience with Tom Brady. Brown played primarily on the outside with the Steelers but split between outside and the slot in his lone game with the Patriots last season. We'll see about his exact role with the Bucs and how it affects where Chris Godwin lines up. We'd bet on each of them splitting their time between outside and the slot. Brown should be picked up in just about any fantasy football league where he's still available. Brady's fantasy ceiling rises. And Mike Evans faces even more competition for targets.
According to multiple reports, WR Antonio Brown and the Buccaneers are "very close" to finalizing a deal. That would reunite Brown with Tom Brady, who threw passes to him for a week in New England last season before off-field issues ended his stint. He's currently on league suspension but will be eligible to join the team after Week 8. He'll obviously crowd the target picture for Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, who has already seen his targets dwindle in games that have included a full-time Godwin. Brown's arrival can only help the upside for Brady as well. We'll watch for confirmation, but Brown should be added pretty much anywhere he's available.
The Seahawks are "positioned to make a push to sign" WR Antonio Brown, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. "Other teams also are interested," Schefter adds. Brown still has 2 weeks left on his 8-week suspension, but it sounds like he'll land a job soon. It's completely unclear what kind of physical and mental shape Brown is in -- and joining a new team midway through the season is tough. Still, Brown might be worth adding now in deeper fantasy leagues.
The Seahawks and Ravens have discussed signing WR Antonio Brown, NFL Network's Mike Silver reports. Brown has had numerous off-field issues since being released by the Raiders and Patriots over a 2-week span this past September. Silver believes Brown "may be facing a suspension of about half a season." Of course, he posted a 105-1,2297-15 line in his last full season back in 2018 and went for 56 yards and a score in his only game last year. There are worse late-round fliers in best-ball drafts right now.
WR Antonio Brown tweeted Sunday morning that he "will not be playing in the NFL anymore," citing the owners' ability to renege on contract guarantees. Brown and the Patriots are about to have it out over how much the team owes him. We imagine Brown would consider continuing his NFL career if another team offers him a big chunk of money. But we're also not betting on that happening this season.
