Jets RB Le’Veon Bell (hamstring) is officially active for today’s game against the Cardinals. Consider him a RB3 or Flex play in his 1st action since Week 1.

Recent Shark Bites

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Chiefs new RB Le'Veon Bell is expected to split carries with Clyde Edwards-Helaire against the Broncos today after impressing in practice this week. We'll see, of course, exactly how that split works out. We'd certainly keep CEH in season-long fantasy lineups in nearly all cases and consider Bell an option. The situation looks like one to avoid for DFS lineups, though.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid said Friday that RB Le'Veon Bell "could get a couple of snaps" in Sunday's game against the Broncos. "It looks like he’s picking things up well, so I think there’s a chance he's in there," Reid added. Bell can't be trusted in Week 7 fantasy lineups. RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire remains a safe play for at least 1 more week.

NFL Network reports that RB Le'Veon Bell has decided to sign with the Chiefs. He joins a backfield led by Clyde Edwards-Helaire with minimal contributions from others so far. CEH has put up nice stats so far but rates below-average in both rushing and receiving DVOA, according to Football Outsiders. We'll see how big a role HC Andy Reid has in mind for the veteran, but it's likely significant given that Bell chose the Chiefs over other suitors. His arrival will lower the volume ceiling for Edwards-Helaire, though we'd still favor the rookie as Kansas City's top fantasy back.

After reportedly failing to trade RB Le'Veon Bell, the Jets have released the disgruntled veteran. The move leaves $15 million in dead cap space this season plus another $4 million under the 2021 cap, so it's pretty clear the team is just ready to end this toxic relationship. The RB depth chart now reads: Frank Gore -- La'Mical Perine -- Ty Johnson. Josh Adams also sits on the practice squad. We'll see if the Jets make any other backfield moves. Gore handled 72% of Jets RB carries during the 3 games Bell missed earlier this season, though just 29% of the RB targets. The most targeted Jets RB during that span, Kalen Ballage, has since been released. We'll see about the target split. Expect Perine to factor in more this time around. We'll also see which team decides to take a shot on Bell. We'd certainly bet he'll find another suitor.

The Jets are trying to trade RB Le'Veon Bell, according to the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta. The report comes as absolutely no surprise. The trick, of course, is finding a team interested in trading for Bell, who has a guaranteed $8.5 million base salary for 2020. The Jets tried to trade Bell at last year's deadline and found no takers. A move out of New York would likely be an upgrade for Bell's fantasy outlook, but we're not optimistic about it happening.
