Rams TE Tyler Higbee is dealing with an elbow injury, HC Sean McVay said Wednesday. This doesn't sound like a serious issue, but Higbee's status will be worth monitoring over the next few days. His absence would make TE Gerald Everett a viable Week 12 streamer vs. the 49ers.
According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, Rams TE Tyler Higbee had offseason knee surgery. Per Rodrigue, Higbee is “working back up to full football activity.” Higbee, 29, posted 61-660-5 in 15 games last season. He projects as a top-20 fantasy TE.
Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) has been placed on IR and will miss the Super Bowl. That leaves TE Kendall Blanton as Los Angeles' starter. He caught all 5 of his targets for 57 yards after Higbee exited the NFC Championship.
Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. We've removed him from our Super Bowl projections and bumped up TE Kendall Blanton.
Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. The team is still holding out hope that he'll be able to play in Sunday's Super Bowl, but that's starting to look unlikely. TE Kendall Blanton stepped up to catch all 5 of his targets for 57 yards after Higbee exited the NFC Championship.
Rams TE Tyler Higbee avoided "significant damage" to his knee in Sunday's NFC Championship win over the 49ers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Higbee's availability for the Super Bowl is "up in the air," per Rapoport, but it at least sounds like Higbee's injury won't impact his 2022 season.
Update: HC Sean McVay called Higbee's injury an MCL sprain. Consider the TE truly questionable for Super Bowl Sunday.
