Prescott "a little ahead of schedule" | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is "a little ahead of schedule" in his rehab from October's fractured and dislocated ankle, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Prescott was originally pegged for a 4-6 month recovery timetable and is expected to be ready "long before" the start of the 2021 season. Rapoport also reports that Dak had a 2nd surgery on that ankle in December to "strengthen his deltoid ligament, clean out the ankle and make it more structurally sound." The Cowboys are expected to franchise-tag Prescott again if the 2 sides can't agree to a long-term deal.

Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is “expected to be ready to go” for training camp. He adds that Prescott isn’t expected to participate much in spring practices. Regardless, it’s good news, as the 6th-year passer has progressed well from 2 ankle surgeries. A healthy Dak projects as a top-5 fantasy passer.

The Cowboys and QB Dak Prescott have agreed to a 4-year, $160 million contract, according to multiple reports. Prescott is getting a $66 million signing bonus, a record $126 million guaranteed and a no-trade clause. This deal took years to get done, but the Cowboys were never going to let Dak get away. He's been awesome since arriving back in 2016, completing 66% of his passes, averaging 7.7 yards per attempt and tossing 106 TDs vs. 40 INTs. More of a game manager for his first 3 seasons, Prescott exploded for 4,902 yards and 30 scores in 2019, finishing 2nd among QBs in fantasy points. He was on pace to smash those marks last season before suffering a season-ending fractured and dislocated ankle in Week 5. Prescott's rehab is reportedly going well -- and this contract is confirmation that the Cowboys have no concerns. Dak sits 3rd among QBs in our early 2021 fantasy rankings.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is making "great progress" in his recovery from October's fractured and dislocated right ankle, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He's walking and working in the pool and on an anti-gravity treadmill. Dallas believes Prescott will "come back better than ever." Those 2 sides still need to come to an agreement on a long-term deal after Dak played under the franchise tag in 2020.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott underwent successful surgery on his right ankle on Sunday night. He's been told that the recovery timetable is 4-6 months, according to NFL Network's Jane Slater. So Prescott is done for 2020. But, barring setback, he should be ready to roll for 2021. We'll monitor his rehab.

The Cowboys announced that QB Dak Prescott suffered a right ankle compound fracture and dislocation in Sunday's game against the Giants. He'll have surgery on Sunday night and is likely done for the 2020 season. We should get confirmation tomorrow. Dallas will now turn to QB Andy Dalton, who completed 9 of 11 passes for 111 yards in leading Dallas to a comeback win today.
