ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Cardinals have informed RB Eno Benjamin that they're releasing him. It's a surprising move given that Benjamin spent 3 games as starter this year, while James Conner was out. He played just 1 offensive snap in Sunday's win over the Rams, though, despite being active and healthy. It appears the team will proceed with Keaontay Ingram and Darrel Williams behind Conner. (Williams has at least 2 more games on IR.)

The real issue here was a Cardinals offense that went pass heavy following a 14-3 2nd quarter deficit. Now, Week 9 could bring the return of James Conner, who’s been sidelined since Week 5. That makes Benjamin much more of a bench stash vs. an RB2/FLEX.
