Indianapolis Colts Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor went off for 110 yards and 2 scores in Sunday's win over Chicago. He handled 23 of 25 team RB carries and 2 of 2 RB targets.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (back, calf) is active for today’s game vs. the Bears. He was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday, although HC Shane Steichen never expressed much concern about his availability for this one. Pittman remains in WR3 territory in the Week 3 Rankings.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (back, calf) is expected to play vs. the Bears today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Pittman was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday. It adds risk to a guy who already projected as just a WR3 in this low-volume Colts passing game.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (back, calf) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Bears. He was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday. HC Shane Steichen said Friday afternoon that he expected Pittman to play, but his status will be worth monitoring leading up to the 1 pm ET kickoff.

Colts WR Josh Downs (ankle) put in a full week of practice and is not listed on the final injury report. He’ll make his 2024 debut on Sunday against the Bears. Downs could quickly emerge as Indianapolis’ No. 2 WR, but he’s not a recommended fantasy starter in his first game back from a significant ankle injury.

Colts K Matt Gay (quad) returned to a full practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday. It looks like he'll be ready to kick vs. the Bears this weekend. He's not a great fantasy option with the Colts' implied total at 22.5 points.

Colts K Matt Gay (quad) did not practice on Wednesday. He missed the opener with a hernia but is now dealing with a quad injury. We'll keep you updated on his status for Sunday's game vs. the Bears, but fantasy owners might want to start making other plans at kicker for Week 3.

Colts WR Josh Downs expects to make his 2024 debut vs. the Bears this weekend, he said on Wednesday. Downs suffered his high-ankle sprain exactly six weeks ago, so he should be getting close to 100%. He practiced all last week, including a full workout on Friday.

The Colts have placed DT DeForest Buckner on IR after MRI confirmed a high-ankle sprain, according to Nate Atkins of the Indianapolis Star. That means Buckner will miss at least the next four games. The veteran had missed just one game because of injury through Week 2 of his ninth season (plus one more for a positive COVID test).

Colts DT DeForest Buckner played just 10 snaps in Sunday's loss to the Packers before leaving with a sprained right ankle. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the injury is "expected to make him a long-shot for next week." Indianapolis hosts the Bears on Sunday.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor ended with a final stat line of 12 rushes for 103 yards as well as two receptions on four targets for 32 yards. Taylor did the heavy lifting for the Colts offense early averaging seven yards per carry in the first half, but the Colts were only able to muster 10 points against the Packers.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson ended with a final stat line, completing 17 of 34 passes for 204 yards, one TD, and three INTs. he also ran for 37 yards on four carries. Richardson had one of the worst early outings of his young career with less than 50 yards passing in the first half and no rushing yards.

Colts DT DeForest Buckner (back) is active for today's game against the Packers. The Colts D will also have Edge Kwity Paye (questionable, hamstring) but miss S Julian Blackmon, who was ruled out earlier in the week. The matchup with Packers backup QB Malik Willis is driving the strength of this matchup for the Indy team defense more than any individual player.

Colts WR Josh Downs (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Packers. The team is wisely playing it safe with his return from a high-ankle sprain. Downs should be back for Week 3, but we’ll track his progress this coming week. His absence keeps Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce, and Adonai Mitchell locked in as Indianapolis’ clear top three WRs.

Colts WR Josh Downs (ankle) is "50/50" for today's game vs. the Packers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "High-ankle sprains can linger and the team wants to make sure he has zero issues before he plays," Rapoport adds. We'll get Indianapolis' inactives around 11:30 am ET, but Downs should not be in your Week 2 fantasy plans.

Colts K Matt Gay (hernia) put in a full week of practice and is not listed on the final injury report. He’ll kick vs. the Packers on Sunday after missing the opener. With the Colts sporting a middling 21.75-point implied total, Gay isn’t a great fantasy option.

Colts WR Josh Downs (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Packers. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday. But HC Shane Steichen has labeled him a game-time decision. Downs shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups in his first game off a high-ankle sprain. But his return would threaten the playing time of WR Alec Pierce and, especially, WR Adonai Mitchell.

Colts K Matt Gay (hernia) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. That puts him on track to play vs. the Packers this weekend after missing the opener. The Colts have a middling 22-point implied total for that one. You should be able to do better than Gay in Week 2 fantasy lineups.

Colts WR Josh Downs (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. It was his first official practice of the season after missing all three last week. Downs told the media afterward that he's about "80-90%" recovered from his high-ankle sprain. We'll keep an eye on his progress over the next few days, leading up to Sunday's game vs. the Packers. But Downs shouldn't be in your Week 2 fantasy plans.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson accounted for 3 total TDs in Sunday's close loss to the Texans. He tallied a key 6-56-1 rushing and 212-2-1 passing on just 9 completions.
