Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Cowboys WR Noah Brown (foot) is not listed on the final Week 10 injury report. He missed Dallas’ last game before the Week 9 bye but will be back for Sunday’s meeting with the Packers.
The Panthers did not activate S Jeremy Chinn (hamstring) from IR ahead of tonight's game against the Falcons. That means another start for Myles Hartsfield, who has been added to our Week 10 IDP rankings. Chinn looks like he's on track to be ready for Week 11.
The Panthers on Tuesday designated S Jeremy Chinn (hamstring) to return from IR, and he practiced with the team. Designating him to return opens a 21-day window for getting Chinn back on the active roster, so the team will still need to make that move before he can play Thursday night against the Falcons. Chinn also doesn't appear on the injury report this week because he's not yet back on the active roster. We'll watch to see whether he's ready for Thursday night.
Chargers RB Austin Ekeler continued his hot steak in Atlanta, posting 2 TDs and 71 total yards. He added 7 catches (20.9% target share) for a team missing Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Isaiah Spiller and Sony Michel mixed in for 8 carries (vs. 14 for Ekeler), but it was Ekeler who saw all of the critical red zone work. His scores came from 1 and 2 yards out. The 27-year-old has now tallied 24+ PPR points in 5 straight. Next up -- a tough San Francisco defense that's allowed only 4 total RB scores this season.
Commanders WR Terry McLaurin led the team in targets for the 2nd straight game in Sunday's loss to the Vikings. He caught 5 of 9 for 56 yards. WR Curtis Samuel beat him in receiving yards, taking his 3 catches for 65 yards and a TD. His 49-yard score accounted for most of that, though, and came on an absurd play. QB Taylor Heinicke threw a deep ball into triple coverage. One of the Minnesota CBs ran into an official, while the other 2 misplayed the ball. That allowed Samuel to make a catch going to the ground and then roll into the end zone. Heinicke totaled just 149 passing yards for the game. His other TD pass went to WR Dax Milne. Washington visits Philadelphia next Monday night.
The Panthers are not activating S Jeremy Chinn (hamstring) ahead of today's game at Cincinnati. Interim HC Steve Wilks said they hope to get him back onto the field ahead of Thursday night's game against the Falcons. Myles Hartsfield should be in line for another start and has climbed our Week 9 IDP rankings.
Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (abdomen) is not listed on the final Week 9 injury report. He was added on Thursday and limited in practice but returned to a full workout on Friday. Ekeler will be busy vs. the Falcons this weekend with WRs Mike Williams and Keenan Allen out.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted that the Chargers were "just being cautious" by limiting RB Austin Ekeler (abdomen) in Thursday's practice. It sounds like Ekeler should be fine for this weekend's game vs. the Falcons, but we'll get another update on his status tomorrow.
Chargers RB Austin Ekeler was added to the injury report and limited on Thursday with an abdomen issue. He spoke to reporters before the workout and made no mention of an injury, so it looks like this happened during Thursday's practice. We'll see what Ekeler does in Friday's practice and how he's listed on the final injury report. His absence vs. the Falcons this weekend would leave Sony Michel as Los Angeles' likely lead back, with rookie Isaiah Spiller the #2.
Cardinals TE Zach Ertz scraped together 4 grabs for 34 yards and 1 score against the Vikings in Week 8. His TD showed off some remarkable sideline balance and power. But the key takeaway here is his 5 targets, which ranked 4th on the team. He’s now seen just a 12.5% target share in 2 outings alongside DeAndre Hopkins. Still, Ertz will remain in the TE1 mix for Sunday’s showdown with Seattle.
Commanders WR Terry McLaurin posted a 6-113 receiving line in Sunday's win at Indianapolis. His 8 targets led the team, marking the 1st time this season that McLaurin has held that position by himself. RB Antonio Gibson checked in 2nd (7), with RB J.D. McKissic next (5). WR Curtis Samuel -- who had led or tied for the lead in every previous game -- checked in 4th with 4 targets. He caught 3 of those for 50 yards and rushed 4 times for 29 more.
Commanders WR Dyami Brown (groin) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Colts. Cam Sims will continue to operate as the #3 WR behind Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel.
Panthers LB Frankie Luvu (shoulder) and CB Jaycee Horn (ribs) are active for today's game against the Falcons. Interim HC Steve Wilks has said they'll control Lulu's playing time to make sure he doesn't aggravate the shoulder and can play out the season. That adds some risk, but he's usable in LB3 range for IDP fantasy football lineups.
Cowboys WR Noah Brown (foot) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Bears. His absence frees up a few targets for WRs CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.
Panthers LB Frankie Luvu (shoulder) and CB Jaycee Horn (ribs) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons. Horn's status is not surprising after he missed the past 2 games. A full Friday practice for him makes him appear likely to return, but he's a low-level IDP option against an Atlanta offense allergic to passing. Luvu entered last week's game questionable and played a season-low 68% of the snaps. He practiced every day this week, sandwiching a full Thursday workout between 2 limited days. Luvu will carry some risk for IDP lineups if he plays this week. He's sitting in low-RB3 territory in our Week 8 IDP rankings.
Cowboys WR Noah Brown (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Bears. He didn’t practice all week, so he’ll obviously be at less than 100% if he suits up this weekend. Brown should not be in your Week 8 fantasy plans. His absence would leave a few extra targets for WRs CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.
Cowboys WR Noah Brown (foot) missed practice again on Thursday. His absence this weekend vs. the Bears would leave a few extra targets for WRs CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.
Cowboys WR Noah Brown (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any other details, but his availability for Sunday's game vs. the Bears is now in question. We'll see if Brown is able to practice on Thursday.
Falcons QB Marcus Mariota attempted 13 passes in a blowout loss at Cincinnati. It’s official — nobody is more committed to the run than HC Arthur Smith. And with only 45 total offensive plays, it’s no surprise Mariota finished with just 124 yards and 1 score. His lone score came on a 75-yard deep ball to Damiere Byrd. Mariota added 31 yards rushing but remains a superflex option only. Next up is a home matchup with Carolina.
Cardinals TE Zach Ertz caught 2 of 4 targets for 21 yards in a Week 7 win over New Orleans. Ertz entered Thursday night with 6+ catches in 5 straight matchups. Week 7 did turn up the return of DeAndre Hopkins, although Arizona was without Marquise Brown (foot). Brown is set to miss several more weeks, while Ertz's lowly production can be chalked up to a strong Saints TE defense. He’s in a fine rebound spot this week at Minnesota.
