Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins (quad) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. At this point, fantasy owners should not be counting on Higgins in Week 9 lineups. We'll keep you updated on his status leading up to Sunday's game vs. the Raiders.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins (quad) is considered "day to day," HC Zac Taylor said Monday. That suggests Higgins' injury isn't serious and that he has a chance to make it back for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders. We'll track his status throughout the week. Higgins owners should still be making backup plans in case he misses another game.
Bengals TE Mike Gesicki tied his season high by playing 31 snaps in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. That also set a season high at 53.4% snap share. Gesicki ranked second on the team in targets (8), receptions (7), and receiving yards (73).
Bengals WR Andrei Iosivas ranked second on the team in routes for Sunday's loss to the Eagles, with WR Tee Higgins sidelined. But he drew just 3 targets -- tied for fifth on the team -- and caught none of them.
Bengals RB Chase Brown ran for 32 yards and a TD to lead Cincinnati's backfield in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He averaged just 2.7 yards per carry across his 12 attempts. Brown added 2 receptions for 2 yards. His 4 targets matched Zack Moss.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow threw for 234 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT in Sunday's 20-point loss to the Eagles. Burrow seemed on the way to a much better passing day after going 11 for 12 on the first possession of the game. But he went just 15 of 25 the rest of the way.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins (quad) is inactive for today’s game against the Eagles. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Higgins pulled a quad running a route in Friday’s practice. “He wanted to play today but just couldn’t do it physically,” Pelissero adds. Higgins’ absence leaves behind 9 targets per game for WR Ja’Marr Chase, WR Andrei Iosivas, and Cincinnati’s RBs and TEs.
ESPN's Dan Graziano hears that there's "pessimism" about Bengals WR Tee Higgins' availability for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. Higgins was added to the injury report with a quad on Friday, limited in practice, and listed as questionable. "The Bengals are planning to go right up until game time before deciding" on Higgins' status, Graziano adds. We'll look for more updates on Higgins on Sunday morning and get Cincinnati's inactives around 11:30 am ET. His absence would mean more target potential for WR Ja'Marr Chase, WR Andrei Iosivas, and the Bengals RBs and TEs. It'd also be a significant loss for QB Joe Burrow.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins was added to the injury report with a quad and limited in practice on Friday. He's listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Eagles. We'll look for further updates on his status and get Cincinnati's inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. Higgins' absence would be a big blow to the Bengals offense. He leads the team with 45 targets over the last five games.
Bengals RB Chase Brown led the backfield with 44 yards on 15 carries in Week 7. He didn't find the end zone but ended up playing ahead of RB Zack Moss.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins led the team with 82 yards on 8 targets in Week 7. He’s now out-targeted Ja’Marr Chase in four straight games, with totals of 38-30.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow saved his Week 6 fantasy line with a 47-yard TD run in the first quarter of Sunday night's win over the Giants. But that accompanied a mere 208 yards and no TDs on 19-of-28 passing (67.9%). Those numbers come out to solid rates for Burrow, but the yardage was his lowest since the Week 1 loss to New England. And the Giants defense deserves credit.
Bengals RB Chase Brown led teammate Zack Moss in basically every category in Sunday night's win over the Giants. He played more snaps (33-24), got more carries (10-6), ran more routes (20-14), drew more targets (3-1), and beat Moss in yards per touch (5.3 to 2.1). The RBs also appeared to get different treatment after their second-half fumbles.
Bengals RB Chase Brown (quad) is active for tonight's game vs. the Giants. He was listed as questionable but never seemed to be in danger of missing this one. Brown figures to continue splitting backfield work with Zack Moss tonight.
Insider Jordan Schultz confirms that Bengals RB Chase Brown (quad) will play against the Giants on Sunday night. HC Zac Taylor said the same on Friday, despite Brown ending up questionable on the final injury report. It doesn't sound like the quad will be an issue vs. New York. Brown figures to continue splitting the backfield with Zack Moss and is a borderline RB2 for Week 6 fantasy lineups.
Bengals RB Zack Moss (foot) is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday night's game vs. the Giants. He went from no practice on Wednesday to limited participation on Thursday to full participation on Friday. RB Chase Brown (groin) is also expected to play against New York, but the injury report suggests that Moss is the healthier Bengals back.
Bengals RB Chase Brown (quad) is listed as questionable for Sunday night's game vs. the Giants. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again on Friday. HC Zac Taylor called Brown's injury "very minor," though, and said that he'll play against the Giants. Despite the late kickoff, Brown can stay in Week 6 fantasy lineups.
Bengals RBs Zack Moss (foot) and Chase Brown (quad) will play vs. the Giants on Sunday night, HC Zac Taylor said. Both guys were limited on Thursday but practiced again on Friday. It sounds like they'll both be ready for their usual roles this weekend. Over the past two weeks, Brown has out-carried Moss 27 to 24, while Moss has out-targeted Brown eight to six. We're projecting a similar split in the Week 6 RB Rankings.
Bengals RB Zack Moss (foot) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. RB Chase Brown (quad) was also limited on Thursday, after not being on the injury report on Wednesday. Cincinnati's Week 6 backfield is totally up in the air at this point. We'll see what Moss and Brown do on Friday and how they're listed on the final injury report for Sunday night's game vs. the Giants. Trayveon Williams is Cincinnati's No. 3 RB.
Bengals RB Zack Moss (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. He appeared to get banged up late in last week's loss to the Ravens, and his status for Sunday night's game vs. the Giants is now uncertain. Moss' absence would turn RB Chase Brown into a must-start. We'll see if Moss gets back on the field tomorrow.
