Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins (rib) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals. He got in a limited practice on Friday after sitting the previous two days. HC Zac Taylor said Friday that he'll sleep on it in regards to Higgins' status for Sunday's game, per The Cincinnati Enquirer's Kelsey Conway. Fantasy owners still shouldn't be counting on Higgins in Week 5 lineups, but we'll keep you updated on the situation. We won't get Bengals inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET on Sunday.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins (rib) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. He's looking like a long shot to play vs. the Cardinals this weekend, but we'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow said Wednesday that last week was the best his calf has felt coming out of a game this season. "So I'm optimistic," Burrow added. Of course, he said that he avoided a setback in Week 3 -- and then proceeded to lay an egg vs. the Titans in Week 4. Burrow is tough to trust as a QB1 right now, even in Sunday's plus matchup vs. the Cardinals.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins (rib) won't practice on Wednesday, HC Zac Taylor said. Taylor labeled Higgins "day-to-day," but fantasy owners should not be counting on him playing vs. the Cardinals this weekend. The Bengals get the Seahawks in Week 6 before a Week 7 bye.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins doesn't expect his rib fracture to cost him much time. "I plan to be back maybe this week, maybe next week," he told the media on Monday. “It’s painful, but we’ll be alright.” It's good news, but Higgins owners should at least plan on being without him for Week 5. It's worth noting that Cincinnati has a Week 7 bye, which might factor into Higgins' return timeline.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins suffered a rib fracture in Sunday's loss to the Titans, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Could keep him off the field for a bit," Rapoport added. We should get a more concrete timeline for Higgins' return on Monday. His absence will elevate Tyler Boyd to the No. 2 spot on the WR depth chart, although it's tough to get excited about him as a fantasy option with the Bengals passing game scuffling.
Colts RB Zack Moss led the backfield touches by a wide margin with 18 attempts for 70 rushing yards in Week 4 vs. the Rams. Teammate Trey Sermon played some, logging 3 carries for 7 yards, but was otherwise an afterthought. Moss has been a fun story for fantasy, but Week 5 marks the point in time when Jonathan Taylor is eligible to return from IR. There haven’t seemed to be any positive developments regarding Taylor’s request for a long-term deal or any progress on a trade, so it’s safe to assume that he’ll be the lead back next week vs. the Titans. It’ll be worth keeping track of news this week in case anything happens, however.
Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase roped in 7 of 9 targets for 73 yards vs. the Titans in Week 4. His teammate Tyler Boyd (4 receptions, 26 yards) is the only other player to record more than 2 catches in the loss. That group unfortunately includes Tee Higgins, who saw just 2 catches for 19 yards before leaving with a rib injury. This offense has been off to a slow start in 2023 due in large part to QB Joe Burrow’s calf injury. They’ll have a chance to improve in Week 5 vs. the Cardinals.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow struggled again in Week 4, completing 20 of 30 attempts for only 165 passing yards with no TDs or INTs. This offense struggled to get much of anything going in their loss vs. the Titans. Thus far into the season, the Bengals are one of two remaining teams who have yet to score a TD in the first half of a game. It’s fair to wonder at this point if fantasy managers can even trust Burrow in 1QB leagues until he’s deemed fully healthy and his calf injury is behind him. Next week, they’ll have a chance to turn things around against the Cardinals.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins suffered a rib injury in the first half of Sunday's game vs. the Titans and will not return. We'll look for an update on the severity of the injury.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) was a full participant in practice all week and isn't listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Titans. He's seemingly healthier this week than last and gets one of the league's best passing matchups. There's slump-busting potential for Burrow this week.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's practice. It's a good sign after he got in just two limited practices last week. Burrow said he avoided a setback with that calf in Monday night's win, so he should be closer to 100% for this weekend's game vs. the Titans.
Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase delivered big for fantasy managers in Week 3 vs. the Rams, catching 12 of 15 targets for 141 yards in the victory. Teammate Tyler Boyd had a productive outing as well, hauling 5 of 9 targets for 39 yards of his own. Those who were frustrated by the lack of huge production from Chase early in the year are surely happy after this showing. WR Tee Higgins, however, hit another skid in primetime action. He drew 8 targets but was only able to record 2 catches for 21 yards on those opportunities, bringing his catch rate to 40% on the season. Hopefully, all of these players will be able to click at the same time in what should be a good matchup against the Titans in Week 4.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow ultimately gutted it out, played through his lingering calf injury in Week 3, and helped to put up a victory vs. the Rams. He completed 26 of 49 passes for 259 yards with 0 TDs and 1 INT in the contest. It’s rather apparent that Burrow is still having a tough time moving around, but he was able to put some weight behind longer throws throughout. We hope he’ll be even healthier in Week 4 vs. the Titans.
Bengals RB Chris Evans is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Rams. He wasn't this week's injury report, so this looks like a healthy scratch. RBs Joe Mixon, Trayveon Williams, and Chase Brown are active for Cincinnati.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) is officially active for tonight's game vs. the Rams. He's struggled playing through this injury so far, aggravated it last week, and is at risk of re-injury tonight. QB Matt Stafford and even QB Baker Mayfield are safer fantasy plays tonight. But if you were waiting on Burrow, he is available.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) is expected to play vs. the Rams tonight, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He is not going to be 100%," Rapoport confirms. We'll get Cincinnati's inactives around 6:45 pm ET.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini hears that there's "optimism" Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) will be able to play vs. the Rams tonight. He'll go through a workout this morning, per Russini, before a final decision is made. "Burrow is campaigning with the coaching staff and trainers to play, however his status is still uncertain," Russini adds. We'll keep you updated on the situation.
Colts RB Zack Moss once again dominated the workload on Sunday, carrying the ball 30 times for 112 rushing yards to go along with a 17-yard receiving TD in Week 3 vs. the Ravens. Teammate Trey Sermon provided some relief with 5 carries for 17 yards and 1 catch for 4 receiving yards. This is the Zack Moss Show until Jonathan Taylor gets activated off of IR. Fantasy managers who took a shot on the veteran back are being rewarded handsomely. Moss will be an exciting start again next week against the Rams.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) is shaping up as a game-time decision for Monday night's game vs. the Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He's been feeling progressively better as we've gone throughout the week," Rapoport says. "Took just a few snaps on Friday, a little bit more on Saturday ... If he plays, he's likely going to play in pain." Between the late kickoff and Burrow's struggles so far, he should be on fantasy benches this week. WRs Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are worth keeping in starting lineups in most cases, although they'll move down the WR Rankings if QB Jake Browning ends up starting.
