Packers LB De'Vondre Campbell (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Broncos. He made it back for only a limited Friday workout coming off the Week 6 bye. Expect Isaiah McDuffie to get another start in Campbell's place.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (shoulder) remained sidelined on Friday. Samuel's injury reportedly isn't serious, but he's definitely in danger of missing Monday night's game vs. the Vikings. We'll see how Samuel is listed on the final injury report tomorrow.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (oblique) missed practice again on Friday. He was at least doing some work off on a side field, according to The Athletic's David Lombardi. We'll see if McCaffrey practices tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report for Monday night's game vs. the Vikings.

Niners LB Dre Greenlaw isn't practicing Thursday because of the hamstring injury that kept him out of Week 6. HC Kyle Shanahan called him day to day, according to The Athletic's Matt Barrows. We'll watch for progress ahead of Monday night's game against the Vikings.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (shoulder) will not practice on Thursday, HC Kyle Shanahan said. Shanahan labeled Samuel "day-to-day," which seemingly means he has a chance to play vs. the Vikings on Monday night. Check back tomorrow for another update on Samuel.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey won't practice on Thursday, HC Kyle Shanahan said. Shanahan called McCaffrey "day-to-day" with an oblique injury, but not a rib injury. That seemingly helps his chances of playing vs. the Vikings on Monday night. We'll get another update on McCaffrey tomorrow.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey's oblique/rib injury is not considered long-term, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Schefter adds that McCaffrey has a "chance" to play vs. the Vikings on Monday night. "The work week will help determine" his availability, Schefter says. We'll keep you updated on McCaffrey's status throughout the week. The Monday kickoff could make it a tricky situation for fantasy owners if McCaffrey ends up as a game-time decision.

The Athletic's Matt Barrows tweets that 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan "praised Jordan Mason's play on Sunday. But it sounded that Elijah Mitchell, not Mason, would be in the lead role should Christian McCaffrey miss Monday's game." It's certainly more tea-leaf-reading by Barrows than actual reporting -- but noteworthy nonetheless. Both Mitchell and Mason should be owned in most fantasy leagues as we wait to learn more about McCaffrey.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday afternoon that RB Christian McCaffrey is still undergoing tests on the injury he suffered in the Week 6 loss to the Browns. Shanahan said it's still unclear whether McCaffrey has an injury to his oblique, ribs, or both -- and that figuring that out will help determine whether he's able to play against the Vikings next Monday night. We'll keep you updated on McCaffrey's status.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan labeled WR Deebo Samuel "day-to-day" with his shoulder injury. It's confirmation that Samuel's injury isn't serious, but he shouldn't be considered a lock to play against the Vikings next Monday night. We'll keep you updated on Samuel's progress throughout the week.

Jordan Mason, not Elijah Mitchell, took over as San Francisco’s lead back after Christian McCaffrey exited Sunday's loss to the Browns with an oblique injury. Mason finished with 27 yards and a score on five carries to Mitchell’s two carries for minus-three yards. We’re not ready to say just yet that Mason would be the better fantasy play if CMC misses more time, but he certainly deserves to be rostered in most fantasy leagues. Mason has averaged 5.9 yards across 64 carries over the past two seasons.

49ers TE George Kittle caught just one pass for one yard in the Week 6 loss to the Browns. San Francisco's offense struggled throughout the game against a tough defense, totaling just 215 yards. But it was still surprising to see Kittle draw just two targets on 25 Brock Purdy passes -- especially with WR Deebo Samuel and RB Christian McCaffrey exiting with injuries. It's been a classic Kittle start to the season for Kittle, who has games of 16.0 and 27.7 PPR points but four others of six or fewer. He'd theoretically get a boost if Samuel and McCaffrey miss more time, even if that didn't come to fruition in this one. You simply need to keep starting Kittle because his ceiling is higher than any TE not named Kelce.

49ers QB Brock Purdy struggled in Sunday's loss to the Browns, completing 12 of 27 passes for 125 yards, one TD, and one INT. The 44% completion rate and 4.6 yards per attempt were both career lows. Purdy was facing a tough Cleveland defense and lost WR Deebo Samuel and RB Christian McCaffrey in-game. But he was also uncharacteristically inaccurate. We're not pushing the panic button here, especially with a much easier matchup vs. the Vikings on tap in Week 7. Of course, Purdy's fantasy stock will take a hit if Samuel and McCaffrey miss more time with their injuries.

Insider Jordan Schultz hears that the 49ers do not believe WR Deebo Samuel's shoulder injury is serious. "The team believes he 'will be fine,'" Schultz adds. "MRI will tell the full story." We should get another update on Samuel tomorrow, but it sounds like he at least has a chance to play Week 7.

X-rays on 49ers WR Deebo Samuel's shoulder came back clean, according to Pro Football Talk. Samuel is still scheduled for an MRI. We should learn more about his injury over the next 24 hours.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Browns with an oblique injury. We'll update his status when we know more. McCaffrey's absence leaves San Francisco's backfield to Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason.

Update: McCaffrey has returned to the game.

Update: McCaffrey carried once and then left the game, jogging back to the locker room.

Update: McCaffrey has been ruled out.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel suffered a shoulder injury in the first half of Sunday's game vs. the Browns. He headed back to the locker room and is officially questionable to return.

Update: Samuel has been ruled out.

Niners LB Dre Greenlaw (hamstring) is inactive for today's game against the Browns. Oren Burks looks like the best bet to run second among 49ers LBs in playing time.

49ers RB Elijah Mitchell (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Browns. He figures to slide back in as the No. 2 RB but would be a desperation fantasy start.

Niners LB Dre Greenlaw (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns. He missed the first two practices before returning to a limited Friday. This looks like a risky spot to play Greenlaw. We've moved him down our Week 6 LB rankings but will confirm his game status Sunday.
