49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday that RB Christian McCaffrey is "day to day" with an ankle sprain suffered in the win over the Raiders. The ankle didn't seem to be much of an issue in that one, with McCaffrey going for 193 total yards and a score. We'll keep an eye on him this week, but he should be fine for Sunday's regular-season finale vs. the Cardinals. San Francisco is still alive for the NFC's #1 seed, needing a win plus an Eagles loss to the Giants.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (knee) practiced in full on Friday and doesn't have an injury tag in advance of Week 17 vs. the Raiders. Teammate RB Jordan Mason (hamstring) also fully practiced and will be ready for Sunday. Fire up McCaffrey as an RB1 stud per usual.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (knee) once again practiced in a limited fashion on Thursday. Teammate RB Jordan Mason (hamstring) logged limited practice as well. Friday's injury report will shed light on the availability of this pair of backs for Week 17's game vs. the Raiders. We certainly feel better about McCaffrey suiting up considering he's played through this ailment for some time.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (knee) logged limited practice participation on Wednesday. The affectionately nicknamed CMC has played through this ailment for weeks, so his availability for Week 17 vs. the Raiders doesn't seem to be in jeopardy. We'll still keep an eye on this if anything goes south.

Niners RB Christian McCaffrey managed just 46 yards on his 15 carries (3.1 per rush) in Saturday's win over the Commanders. He added just 2 receptions for 12 yards. That matched McCaffrey's low for receptions on the season, and his 2 targets set a new season low. RB Tyrion Davis-Price jumped in for 9 carries and 30 yards as the only other RB to see any touches. McCaffrey and the 49ers get a high-upside matchup with the Raiders in Week 17.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (ankle, knee) is out for Thursday night's game vs. the Seahawks. It sounds like he'll be back in either Week 17 or 18. Samuel's absence elevates Jauan Jennings to the #2 WR role and frees up targets for RB Christian McCaffrey, WR Brandon Aiyuk and TE George Kittle.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel suffered an MCL sprain and an ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Bucs, the team announced on Monday. Samuel is expected to return at some point in the regular season, but we'd prepare for him to miss multiple games. We'll hopefully get a more concrete timeline for Samuel's return before you need to decide whether to release him from fantasy rosters. Jauan Jennings will take over as San Francisco's #2 WR with Samuel out but is unlikely to be a reliable fantasy play at this point in the season. RB Christian McCaffrey, WR Brandon Aiyuk and TE George Kittle are all candidates to pick up extra targets with Samuel out.

Niners RB Christian McCaffrey ran for 119 yards and a TD on 14 carries in Sunday's lopsided win over the Buccaneers. He added 2 catches for 34 yards and another TD on just 3 targets. Jordan Mason operated as the #2 RB one again, carrying 11 times for 56 yards. San Francisco gets Seattle's soft run defense on Thursday night in Week 15.

49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo does not have a Lisfranc injury and won't need surgery, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Garoppolo could be back in 7-8 weeks, "if rehab goes smoothly," Schefter adds. Seven weeks would put Garoppolo back on the field for the Divisional Round of the playoffs. We'll keep an eye on his progress. Garoppolo is still a guy to avoid in playoff fantasy contests, but this news helps the outlooks on San Francisco's skill-position players.

49ers RB Tevin Coleman was not elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. That leaves rookie RBs Ty Davis-Price and Jordan Mason behind Christian McCaffrey. We'll see how work is divvied between them, but neither is a reliable Week 13 fantasy play. It's certainly possible that McCaffrey just takes on a bunch of the work RB Elijah Mitchell leaves behind.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (knee) is not listed on the final injury report. He went from no practice on Wednesday to limited Thursday to full participation on Friday. McCaffrey is believed to be dealing with knee tendinitis, but we’re not expecting it to significantly impact him in Sunday’s game vs. the Dolphins. RB Elijah Mitchell is expected to miss the rest of the regular season with his MCL sprain, leaving some combination of Ty Davis-Price, Jordan Mason and Tevin Coleman behind McCaffrey.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (knee) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. “I feel great,” he said afterward. There's still a chance that the 'Niners need to scale back McCaffrey's snaps and/or touches due to that knee tendinitis vs. Miami this weekend, but he remains a must-start in fantasy lineups.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (knee) won't practice on Wednesday, HC Kyle Shanahan said. Shanny added that McCaffrey "just felt something" in that left knee during last week's game and that they're "hopeful" he'll be able to play vs. the Dolphins on Sunday. That's not quite as reassuring as the reports on CMC's status over the previous couple of days. We're still tentatively expecting him to play this weekend, but we'll continue to keep a close eye on that knee.

The Athletic's Matt Barrows suggests that 49ers RB Tevin Coleman could help replace RB Elijah Mitchell going forward. Coleman carried 12 times across Weeks 5 and 6 but has been on the practice squad since. We'll see if he's elevated ahead of Week 13 -- and then who's active behind RB Christian McCaffrey for Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. Coleman, Jordan Mason and Ty Davis-Price are all worth stashing in deeper fantasy leagues.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan on Monday labeled RB Christian McCaffrey "day to day" with "knee irritation" and said that CMC will be managed during the week. It's unclear if McCaffrey's snaps and touches will need to be "managed" on game day. His 63% snap rate in Sunday's win over the Saints was his lowest since his 49ers debut in Week 7. And after tallying 27 and 20 opportunities (carries + targets) in Weeks 8 and 10, McCaffrey has gone for 14 and 17 the past 2 games. We'll keep a close eye on this knee situation going forward.

Niners HC Kyle Shanahan confirmed Monday that RB Elijah Mitchell did suffer an MCL sprain Sunday against the Saints. He's expected to miss 6-8 weeks. When Mitchell suffered the same injury to his other knee back in Week 1, he remained out until Week 10. Expect this injury to knock Mitchell out for at least the rest of the regular season. We'll see about the playoffs (for him and the 49ers).

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey was dealing with "knee irritation" during Sunday's game vs. the Saints, HC Kyle Shanahan said afterward. McCaffrey ended up tallying 11 carries and 6 targets on a 63% snap rate. He was shown on the sidelines with a strap below his left knee, which is often used to help deal with tendinitis. That's not likely to force McCaffrey to miss games, but it could impact his workload. We'll continue to keep a close eye on the situation.
