JPP active vs. Washington

Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder, hand) is active for today's game against Washington. He has been playing through questionable tags since returning from his shoulder injury. JPP saw his normal playing time last week and should be fine for IDP use -- especially in a high-upside matchup.

The Dolphins are signing Edge Jason Pierre-Paul from the Saints' practice squad, in the wake of Edge Jaelan Phillips' season-ending Achilles' tear. That means Miami will need to keep JPP on the active roster. We'd still bet on the veteran playing a small role, though, likely trailing at least Bradley Chubb, Andrew Van Ginkel, and Emmanuel Ogbah in snaps among edge players.

Edge Jason Pierre-Paul will sign with the Saints, according to CBS' Josina Anderson. Pierre-Paul is an interesting addition for the New Orleans defense, but it's hard to imagine much fantasy impact. He tallied just 3 sacks -- plus 5 passes defensed -- over 14 games with the Ravens last season. JPP's now 34.

Baltimore has just 7 sacks through 3 games, despite facing a league-high 141 pass attempts. The only Raven with 2+ sacks so far is EDGE Justin Houston, who left Sunday's win over the Patriots with a groin injury. We'd bet on JPP quickly working into the rotation, though we'll need to see his playing time before considering him for IDP lineups.
