        Nate Boerkircher TE JAC

        JAC TE

Should You Be Scared About How Much the Jaguars Like Nate Boerkircher?

Should You Be Scared About How Much the Jaguars Like Nate Boerkircher?

It was a little surprising when the Jaguars drafted Texas A&M TE Nate Boerkircher. It was the team’s first pick, after Jacksonville traded its first-rounder to move up for Travis Hunter in 2025, and Boerkircher totaled just 38 receptions across five college seasons (four at Nebraska, one at A&M). But the degree to which Jags leadership got excited about the selection might give us some hints at the team’s offensive plans for 2026 and beyond … and they could impact the fantasy outlook for your favorite Jacksonville receiver.

The Jaguars Take ANOTHER Rookie TE in Tanner Koziol

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Houston TE Tanner Koziol in Round 5 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Koziol was one of the most productive TEs in college football over the past two seasons. In fact, his 168 receptions were tops among all FBS players. Koziol posted a 94-839-8 line at Ball State in 2024, leading the team in all three categories. He took a step up in competition at Houston last year and pumped out 74 catches for 727 yards and 6 TDs. Koziol’s 27.7% dominator rating (share of team’s receiving yards + TDs) led the top 27 TEs in this year’s class. His 2.26 yards per route ranked second to only Eli Stowers. Koziol didn’t do much work downfield in college, with a career 8.1-yard average target depth. But he caught over 70% of his targets and scored on 10% of his receptions. Koziol checked in at 6’7, 247 pounds at the Combine and earned a 9.58 Relative Athletic Score. He checks a ton of boxes and is one of our favorite sleepers in this TE class.

Jags Add Nate Boerkircher in Round 2

The Jaguars selected Texas A&M TE Nate Boerkircher in Round 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Boerkircher spent four years at Nebraska with just 19 total catches before transferring in 2025. He started every game at Texas A&M and showed well as both a blocker and receiver. But the usage and efficiency raise concerns for fantasy. Among 27 Combine-invited TEs, he ranked 19th in aDOT (6.6), last in team receiving yardage share (7.9%), last in receiving yards per team pass attempt (0.69), and 26th in yards per route run (1.12). He enters the league as an older prospect, at 24.
