Shark Bites

The Broncos on Monday placed S Brandon Jones on IR with a pectoral injury he suffered in Sunday's win over the Packers. With just three regular-season games left, that obviously knocks Jones out until at least the playoffs.

Broncos LB Alex Singleton revealed to teammates Monday that he had surgery Friday to remove a cancerous testicular tumor. It's not yet clear how much time he'll miss, but he says the outlook is good. Singleton said the diagnosis came within the past couple of weeks after the NFL's random drug-testing program detected elevated levels of the hormone hcG. A follow-up with a urologist found the cancerous growth.

The league on Monday suspended Broncos LB Dre Greenlaw one game for comments he directed at referee Brad Allen right after Denver's game-winning FG Sunday against the Giants. Greenlaw reportedly plans to appeal and has three days to do so.
