Chargers Offense is Killing Ladd McConkey

WR Ladd McConkey led the Chargers in pass routes in Sunday's win over the Chiefs, according to Pro Football Focus numbers. But that didn't equate to usable fantasy production. He managed just 2 receptions for 20 yards while trailing three teammates in targets. WR Keenan Allen led the team with seven targets and 5 receptions. Allen took those for just 36 yards, though. TE Oronde Gadsden and WR Tre Harris tied for second at five targets. Gadsden posted a 4-61 receiving line, ranking second on the team in catches and leading the way in receiving yards. Harris tallied 3 receptions for 49 yards.

Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (groin) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Chiefs. He injured his groin in Friday’s practice, so this could turn into a multi-game absence. Johnston’s absence today should mean an expanded role for WR Tre Harris, but the rookie isn’t a recommended fantasy start in a struggling Chargers passing game.

Chargers WR Keenan Allen caught four balls for 44 yards in Thursday night's game vs. the Vikings. Not a big fantasy outing, but QB Justin Herbert only needed to throw 25 times in an easy 37-10 win. Allen's five targets tied for second on the team and were a 20% share. His playing time was way down, though: A season-low 25% snap rate and a season-low 50% route rate. Time to worry? Let's dig in ...
