Byron Pringle - Injury History

What You Need to Know:

• Last year in Kansas City, Pringle managed just 42-568-5 in 17 games.
• His best game (6-75-2 vs. Pittsburgh) came with Travis Kelce sidelined.
• Overall, Pringle ranked 75th in PFF grade among 90 WRs with 50+ targets; 71st in yards per route run.
• He posted the highest drop rate of his brief career and a bottom-10 mark in the above sample (11.5%).
• Ultimately, Pringle failed to break out in an ideal Chiefs offense that routinely lacked a WR2 behind Tyreek Hill.
• In March, Chicago signed Pringle to a 1-year, $4 million deal (all guaranteed). New GM Ryan Poles was with the Chiefs when Pringle signed as a UDFA.
• In April, he was charged with reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. No discipline has been announced as of this writing, but nothing significant is expected.
• Pringle doesn’t have much competition for targets. Round 3 WR Velus Jones and Equanimeous St. Brown are the noteworthy offseason additions.
• Consider Pringle the small favorite to finish 3rd on the team in targets behind Darnell Mooney and Cole Kmet. We just don’t see a high ceiling here, barring injuries ahead of Pringle and a major step forward from Justin Fields.

Draft Sharks Bottom Line:

Pringle, already 29 in November, showed he’s just a depth option in a great spot with the Chiefs.

We like the upside on Justin Fields and new OC Luke Getsy. There’s just not a high probability that the former UDFA sees enough targets to become relevant outside of deep leagues.
