Basic Stats Full Player Fantasy Analysis

Draft Sharks Bottom Line:

Kendricks was on pace for a top-5 fantasy finish before a calf injury ended his 2020 early.

The biggest change has been improved play in coverage. Kendricks has earned elite Pro Football Focus grades in that area each of the past 2 seasons. He has averaged 0.7 passes defensed per game over that span. That's 11 over 16 games, which would have led all LBs last season. Kendricks' 12 in 2019 did tie for the position lead that season -- even though he sat out a game.

The big question is whether Kendricks' increase in tackles per game last season can hold. Here are his annual total tackles per game to date:

6.57
7.27
7.06
7.71
7.33
9.73

As you can see, last year's rate stands out as the biggest outlier so far. And it came in a year that found LB Anthony Barr missing nearly the entire season, DE Danielle Hunter missing the whole year and DT Michael Pierce opting out. Minnesota's defense had a rough year on whole, which could certainly increase the tackle opportunities.

So Kendricks remains a quality option. If your league doesn't boost him on the per-game scoring of last year, then he'll make for a solid pick. But there's a chance he gets overrated in your draft.

Vikings LB Eric Kendricks (quad) is active for today’s game against the Cardinals. Use him as you normally would in IDP lineups.

Vikings LB Eric Kendricks is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. He's dealing with a quad issue that kept him out of Thursday's practice, but Kendricks returned to full participation Friday. We'll see about his status Sunday morning. Otherwise, the Vikings ruled out DE Everson Griffen (concussion) and OLB Anthony Barr (knee). Barr's absence means another start for Nick Vigil, who returned to a full practice Friday and is good to go after a limited start to the week.

The Vikings have ruled LB Eric Kendricks (calf) out for Sunday's game against the Lions. It'll be his 5th straight game missed. His absence helps the matchup for Lions TE T.J. Hockenson. LB Todd Davis is back to fill in for Kendricks after missing last week.

The Vikings have ruled LB Eric Kendricks (calf) out for Friday's game against the Saints. It'll be the 4th straight game he has missed. Replacement Todd Davis (ribs) is doubtful. And rookie LB Troy Dye -- a potential fill-in -- has also been ruled out. That leaves Eric Wilson as the only Minnesota LB in play for IDP lineups.

Vikings LB Eric Kendricks still has yet to practice since suffering his calf injury. He remained out for Tuesday's workout, heading toward Friday's game at New Orleans. We'll see about his next couple of days, but don't plan to have Kendricks available for your Week 16 IDP lineup. Todd Davis has been decently productive in Kendricks' place, posting 11, 7 and 8 tackles over his 3 fill-in games. Davis has gone just 3, 3 and 4 in solo tackles but added a sack and a pass breakup in Sunday's loss to Chicago. He'll be in play vs. the Saints if Kendricks sits again.
