View AllSaquon Barkley NOT expected to play Week 5
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is not expected to play vs. the Dolphins today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Barkley remained limited in practice all week and didn't sound optimistic about his status when speaking to the media. Rapoport adds that Barkley is "closer" to a return. We'll see if he can make it back for Week 6. His absence today again leaves New York's backfield to Matt Breida and Gary Brightwell. Breida has tallied 18 carries and eight targets to Brightwell's eight carries and five targets over the last two weeks. See where both guys land in the updated Week 5 RB Rankings.
Saquon Barkley doubtful vs. Seahawks
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is doubtful for Monday night's game against the Seahawks. That means Matt Breida should again run as New York's top back. He'll get a more favorable matchup than Week 3, when a TD made his fantasy line against the 49ers. Breida still carries limited upside but is an option for needy Week 4 fantasy lineups. Saquon Barkley limited Thursday
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport described Barkley's status for Monday night's game vs. the Seahawks as a "wait-and-see" situation, adding that Barkley "has a long way to go." We're still not projecting him to play this week but will continue to monitor his progress over the next few days.
