Eifert fractures ankle

Bengals TE Tyler Eifert suffered a right ankle fracture in Sunday's win at Atlanta, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The injury will require surgery and cost Eifert the rest of the season. He hasn't played more than 13 games in a season since his 2013 rookie campaign. Eifert played just 10 total games over the past 2 years before going down in Week 4 of 2018.

Bengals TE Tyler Eifert will undergo season-ending back surgery on Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It'll be Eifert's 2nd back surgery in the past 10 months. This one will sideline him 4-6 months, per Schefter. That timeline will have Eifert sidelined until somewhere between February and April. It's especially bad news considering he's set to hit free agency in March. Eifert is still only 27 but has now missed 22 games over the past 2 seasons and 41 total over his 5-year career.

Bengals TE Tyler Eifert is expected to miss "multiple weeks" with his back injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Eifert doesn't need back surgery "at this time," Schefter adds. It's still unclear if this is related to the back issue that cost him the final 2 games of last season. Either way, multiple back problems in a span of less than a year is a major concern.
