Antonio Brown will have ankle surgery

In a lengthy statement released on Tuesday night, WR Antonio Brown revealed that he'll undergo surgery for the ankle injury he originally suffered in Week 6 and played through the past 2 weeks. “It shows broken bone fragments stuck in my ankle, the ligament torn from the bone, and cartilage loss, which are beyond painful," Brown said of the latest MRI on his ankle. "You can see the bone bulging from the outside.” Brown also claims he pulled himself from the Jets game, the Bucs' coaches told him to go back in and then told him he was done with the team when he refused. Brown added that he's expected to make a full recovery from the ankle injury and is "looking forward to next season." We'll see if another team takes a shot on him.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (ankle) is expected to play against the Jets today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "Bucs initially had their doubts Brown would play, but he practiced Saturday and barring a setback Sunday, is expected to go," Schefter tweeted. It's safe to assume that Brown won't be at 100% today, adding some risk to his fantasy profile. But there's still big upside here vs. a bad Jets secondary.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Jets. He tweaked his ankle on Wednesday and didn’t practice on Thursday or Friday. Interim HC Harold Goodwin said Friday that it's "possible" that Brown is able to play this weekend. We’ll get Tampa’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday, but Brown will obviously come with elevated risk if he ends up playing.
