Drue Tranquill's Preseason Player AnalysisNick Bolton (wrist) expected to return from IR vs. Bills
The Chiefs are expected to activate LB Nick Bolton (wrist) from IR ahead of Sunday's game against the Bills, according to ChiefsDigest.com. Bolton put in three full practices this week but will need to be activated before 4 p.m. ET Saturday to be eligible to play. If he's back, we'd use him in most IDP cases. You'll find Bolton near LB1 territory in our Week 14 LB rankings. Kansas City has ruled LB Drue Tranquill (concussion) out for the game. But that won't really matter if Bolton's back. Tranquill has been filling in for Bolton but plays a minimal role when Bolton's available.

Chiefs LB Drue Tranquill left in the first half of Sunday night's game against the Packers with a concussion. We'll see about his status heading into next Sunday's game against the Bills
Nick Bolton needs surgery on dislocated right wrist; expected to miss two months
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Chiefs LB Nick Bolton will need surgery on his dislocated right wrist and is expected to miss "roughly two months." That would put Bolton's estimated return at Week 16 (Dec. 25) against the Raiders. Unfortunately, that timeline means Bolton is probably worth dropping in most redraft IDP leagues -- unless you can stash him in an IR spot. Drue Tranquill should reclaim a full-time role while Bolton's out. He'll be regularly usable in fantasy lineups but doesn't match Bolton's scoring upside.

Chiefs LB Nick Bolton (ankle) is inactive for the third straight game. His absence boosts Drue Tranquill way up the Week 5 LB rankings.
Nick Bolton (ankle) returns to limited practices
Chiefs LB Nick Bolton (ankle) put in limited practices Wednesday and Thursday. That's noteworthy because he missed every practice the past two weeks, along with both games. We'll see about Bolton's game status after Friday's practice. His return would send LB Drue Tranquill back to a part-time role.
