Reddick came out of nowhere to lead D-linemen in fantasy scoring last season. That's evident in the 5-sack, 3-FF performance against the Giants in Week 14 that accounted for 25% of his scoring for the year. It became evident again when Reddick hit the open market and could muster only a 1-year deal with Carolina.
But the Panthers did pay him $8 million, which tied Jadeveon Clowney for 8th in annual average among all edge players on the market. More importantly, Reddick lands on a Panthers team with opportunity.
Brian Burns has locked down 1 edge, but no other Carolina DE reached 40% snap share last season. We're not betting Reddick will match Burns in playing time, but he should emerge as the opposite starter. And he did play well last year, tying for 11th among edge players in total pressures. Reddick also earned the best pass-rushing and overall Pro Football Focus grades of his career.
One key question will be whether Reddick can find as many tackle opportunities with his new team as he found across multiple roles with the Cardinals. But his tackle total for the past 3 years would have led all D-linemen in the league. So we'll go ahead and bet on him in that area.
