        Williams won't play Week 6

        Williams won't play Week 6

Cardinals RB Darrel Williams will miss at least this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks with a sprained knee, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. RB James Conner's status for that one is uncertain after he hurt his ribs last week. RB Jonathan Ward (hamstring) is heading to IR, leaving Eno Benjamin and Keaontay Ingram as the healthy RBs on Arizona's active roster. The Cardinals signed Corey Clement and Ty'Son Williams to the practice squad on Tuesday. We'll track this situation over the next few days, but Benjamin has a shot to be a nice Week 6 fantasy play if Conner can't go.

Pro Football Focus' Doug Kyed reports that "multiple league sources" identified Cardinals RB Darrel Williams as a potential surprise candidate to be cut or traded. Williams' usage through 2 preseason games has seemed to indicate he might be ahead of Eno Benjamin and others on the RB depth chart, but that has also accompanied persistently positive reports on Benjamin's performance. We'll see how this one plays out over the next week plus, with roster cutdowns progressing. For now, there's at least risk to adding Williams late in fantasy football drafts. We'd hold off on selecting him to best-ball rosters with no in-season management.

Cardinals GM Steve Keim gave a breakdown on rookie RB Keaontay Ingram. "A big, physical back. A downhill runner. A good special teamer. A guy that we think can certainly contribute," Keim said. "Thought he had a really nice year this year and a lot of good things to like about him.” In 2021, Ingram posted 156-911-5 (10 games) as a power back for USC. Across 4 seasons (2 at USC, 2 at Texas) Ingram collected 89 receptions. The 6th-round pick will battle Eno Benjamin, Jonathan Ward, Jaylen Samuels and UDFA Ronnie Rivers for a depth role behind James Conner.

Cardinals RB James Conner (heel) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. We're expecting him to play after getting in 3 limited practices this week but will look for an update on his status on Sunday morning. Seahawks-Cardinals kicks off at 4:25 pm ET. With RB Chase Edmonds (ribs, toe) ruled out, Arizona would be down to RBs Eno Benjamin and Jonathan Ward if Conner can't go.

Cardinals RB James Conner (heel) is inactive for tonight's game agains the Colts. That leaves Arizona's backfield to Chase Edmonds, Eno Benjamin and Jonathan Ward. Edmonds should handle the bulk of the work and is a strong fantasy play tonight.
