Basic Stats Full Player Fantasy Analysis

What You Need to Know:

  • Robinson ranked 9th among PPR wideouts last season, with Nick Foles and Mitchell Trubisky playing so well that the Bears paid Andy Dalton $10 million on the open market.
  • Robinson checked in 7th at the position in 2019, with Trubisky tying for 28th in PFF passing grade (among 39 QBs with 140+ dropbacks).
  • He broke out back in Jacksonville as a 22-year-old NFL sophomore, snagging 14 TDs and ranking top-6 across fantasy formats with Blake Bortles slinging it.
  • Robinson’s QB history has been so rough, that either Dalton or Justin Fields would be an upgrade.
  • Fields ranked 2nd among 154 draft-eligible QBs in Pro Football Focus’ adjusted completion rate for 2020 -- trailing only Mac Jones. PFF deemed him “one of the most accurate quarterbacks we’ve ever charted.”
  • Robinson spent less time in the slot in 2020 than in either of his 2 previous Bears seasons: 29.4%, down from 41.3% and 39.0%.
  • He posted his best yards-per-route-run rate as a Bear, tying for 20th among 115 wideouts with 30+ targets. That came despite a career-low 10.1 ADOT.
  • Robinson has dropped just 6 passes across 3 seasons in Chicago.
  • The Bears sported the 11th and 6th most pass-heavy offenses the past 2 years.

Draft Sharks Bottom Line:

You probably already know that Robinson has been really good so far in the NFL. It gets even more impressive when you consider how poor his QB play has been. Justin Fields has the chance to immediately raise the ceiling from that end, potentially upgrading both the downfield production and overall accuracy. Even if Chicago opens the year with Andy Dalton, the veteran could stabilize the position vs. the crap carousel that was Foles-Trubisky.

Robinson belongs in WR1 territory in drafts and might even be slightly undervalued at his WR13 ADP in FFPC best-ball drafting right now.

After skipping 2 weeks of voluntary OTAs, Bears WR Allen Robinson showed up for mandatory minicamp. On Wednesday, the veteran confirmed that he won’t be a training camp holdout. “That [contract negotiations] is not in my control,” Robinson said. “That is what it is. I’m comfortable with that. Obviously that [signing an extension] is a possibility. My main focus right now is to continue to get better.” The Bears have until July 15 to extend Robinson. The 27-year-old has rolled up 200-2,397-13 over the past 2 seasons.

The Bears are placing the franchise tag on WR Allen Robinson, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That means Robinson will remain stuck in Chicago's offense for at least another year rather than getting a chance to hit the open market this month. We'll see who his 2021 QB will be. Robinson, at least, has already proved he can produce strong fantasy numbers with the likes of Blake Bortles, Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles. So we're not altering his fantasy outlook.
