George Pickens Ready For Week 13

Cowboys WR George Pickens (knee, calf) was upgraded to full participation in Wednesday's practice and is off the final injury report. He should be ready for his usual role in Thursday's game vs. the Chiefs and remains a must-start in fantasy football.

        George Pickens Limited Tuesday

Cowboys WR George Pickens (knee, calf) was limited in Tuesday's practice. He got banged up late in last week's win over the Eagles but was able to return. Pickens should be fine for Thursday's game vs. the Chiefs, but we'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow.

George Pickens Will Play Week 17

Steelers WR George Pickens (hamstring) is not listed on the final injury report for Wednesday's game vs. the Chiefs. He was a full participant in practice on Monday and Tuesday. It all suggests that Pickens is ready for a full workload tomorrow, although there's always some risk of a setback with hamstrings. Pickens has averaged 7.7 targets, 4.8 catches, 81 yards, and 0.5 TDs in six games with QB Russell Wilson this season.

George Pickens On Track To Play Week 17

Steelers WR George Pickens (hamstring) was a full participant in Monday's practice. He's on track to return for Wednesday's game vs. the Chiefs. The hamstring injury adds risk to Pickens' Week 17 outlook, but the full practice suggests he'll be ready for his usual workload. Pickens gets a Chiefs pass defense that hasn't been great lately. They rank 23rd in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs over the last five weeks.

Tomlin: "Outside Chance" George Pickens Plays Week 15

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that there's only an "outside chance" WR George Pickens (hamstring) plays against the Eagles this weekend. “It’s a little bit more significant than what we imagined," Tomlin added of Pickens' injury. That jibes with a report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Monday that had Pickens likely to miss Week 15. Reportedly dealing with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, Pickens shouldn't even be considered a lock for Week 16. We'll continue to track his status. No Steelers WR becomes startable in Pickens' absence.

George Pickens Likely to Miss Week 15 With Grade 2 Hamstring Strain

Steelers WR George Pickens reportedly has a Grade 2 Hamstring strain and will likely miss next week's game against the Eagles. Pickens missed yesterday's game against the Browns as a game-time decision, but the injury appears to be more severe than describing this week.

George Pickens Questionable For Week 14

Steelers WR George Pickens was added to the injury report with a hamstring and limited in practice on Friday. He's listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Browns. We'll look for more info on Pickens' status and get Pittsburgh's inactives around 11:30 am ET. His absence would be a huge loss for the Steelers' passing game. Since QB Russell Wilson took over, Pickens has accounted for 24% of the team's targets, 24% of the receptions, 32% of the receiving yards, and 30% of the receiving TDs.

        Russell Wilson INACTIVE

Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) is inactive for today’s opener vs. the Falcons. He was pushing to play, but the team will hold him out after he aggravated his calf injury in practice this week. QB Justin Fields gets the start for Pittsburgh and is a more exciting fantasy option than Wilson. But Fields dings the fantasy value of the Steelers’ skill-position players. See where they all sit in the Week 1 Rankings.

Russell Wilson Will Start Week 1

Steelers QB Russell Wilson will start against the Falcons in Week 1, according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer. Wilson missed a chunk of August with a calf injury, which seemingly cracked the door open for QB Justin Fields to steal the starting job. But Fields underwhelmed in the preseason. So Pittsburgh will go with Wilson at least for the opener.

Justin Fields Gaining Ground On Russell Wilson?

ESPN's Adam Schefter believes Justin Fields has gained some ground on Russell Wilson in the race for the Steelers' starting QB job. Fields has "gotten better at practice every day," per Schefter, while Wilson missed a few days with his calf injury. "I think Russell Wilson remains in the pole position, but I also think that Justin Fields has opened some eyes, and they see the type of offense they could have," Schefter said.

Kenny Pickett to miss "extended period" with ankle injury

Steelers QB Kenny Pickett will miss an "extended period" with his ankle injury, according to The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac. We'll look for a more detailed diagnosis and timetable for Pickett's return, but it sounds like it'll be QB Mitchell Trubisky under center for the Steelers for the foreseeable future. He's completed 63.8% of his passes at 6.7 yards per attempt over the past two seasons in Pittsburgh. Trubisky will be a bottom-barrel QB2 in fantasy football but probably won't be a significant downgrade from Pickett for the offense.

George Pickens ready for Week 12

Steelers WR George Pickens (shin) is not listed on the final Week 12 injury report. He went from no practice on Wednesday to limited participation on Thursday to full participation on Friday. The shin shouldn’t be an issue in this weekend’s game vs. the Bengals.
