View RB Fantasy Rankings »

Bottom Line

Singletary put his best work on tape as a 26-year-old Texan. After a slow start, he finished as the RB9 from Week 10 on.

The Giants supply a nice landing spot for opportunity – but a massive downgrade in supporting cast. View the 27-year-old as a FLEX only.

What We Learned Last Year

  • Singletary appeared in all 17 games and set career highs in rush attempts (216) and rush yards (898).
  • He benefited from C.J. Stroud’s rapid rise, although the Texans weren't exactly strong up front.
    • They finished 20th in PFF's run blocking grade; 25th in run block win rate.
  • Among 35 RBs with 150+ carries, Singletary ranked t-14th in yards per carry, 21st in yards after contact per attempt, and 30th in Pro Football Focus' Elusive Rating.
  • In the same sample, he sat ninth in explosive rush rate, 17th in EPA per rush, and 21st in success rate.
  • He caught only 30 passes and scored 4 total TDs, limiting his fantasy ceiling.
    • Singletary finished as the PPR RB32. That jumped to RB9 over the final nine weeks.
    • He tallied seven top-24 fantasy finishes – each from Week 10 on.
    • He finished six games at RB40 or worse.

What to Expect in 2024

  • Singletary signed a three-year deal with the Giants in March.
    • His guaranteed money ranks 15th among RBs.
  • He’s reunited with Brian Daboll, his OC in Buffalo from 2019-2021.
    • Daboll's held an OC role across 10 seasons. His units have finished in the league's top half in rush attempts eight times.
  • The Giants lost Saquon Barkley and his 288 touches in free agency.
  • New York returns 2022 Round 5 pick Eric Gray. He carried 17 times as a rookie and projects as the No. 2 or No. 3 option.
  • Tyrone Tracy Jr. arrived in the 2024 draft. We like his athletic profile and his background as a WR. Just note that he’s a 24 year-old rookie – with undeveloped RB skills.
  • Daniel Jones returns at QB, but he’s coming off a torn ACL.
    • Even if healthy, this offense projects as below average.
    • The ‘23 Giants hit rock bottom, finishing 29th in yards per game; 30th in points.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was a full-go in practice all week, so we’re fully expecting him to play. OC Bobby Slowik confirmed earlier this week that Pierce and RB Devin Singletary will go back to sharing the workload. Singletary deserves to lead the backfield after his strong play the past two weeks, but he’s just a RB3 in fantasy lineups assuming Pierce plays on Sunday.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) was a full-go in Wednesday's practice. He's on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars. It's tough to imagine Pierce being reinstalled as lead back considering how awesome RB Devin Singletary has been the past two weeks. But Pierce will certainly cut into Singletary's workload. See where both guys sit in the Week 12 RB Rankings.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) is out for this weekend’s game vs. the Cardinals. He returned to a limited practice on Friday, potentially setting him up for a Week 12 return. RB Devin Singletary should again be in a workhorse role on Sunday after racking up 30 carries and two targets on an 81% snap rate last week. He’s a rock-solid RB2 vs. Arizona’s 29th-ranked RB defense.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. At this point, he seems unlikely to return for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals. That'd mean another big workload for RB Devin Singletary, who carried a whopping 30 times last week.
