Colbie Young Drafted to the Bengals in Round 4

The Cincinnati Bengals selected Georgia WR Colbie Young in Round 4 of the 2026 NFL Draft. A no-star recruit out of high school, Young started his college career at Lackawanna. After posting a 24-472-9 line in 2021, he made a big step up in class at Miami. Young made an immediate impact there, leading the Canes with 5 receiving scores and ranking second on the team with 367 receiving yards in 2022. He finished third in catches (47), yards (563), and TDs (5) as a sophomore. Young then transferred to Georgia, where his career got off track. He was suspended from the team and missed the final 9 games of 2024 after being arrested for battery and assault. (Young eventually pled no contest to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct and received 12 months probation.) Then he missed six games this past year with a fractured left fibula. When he was on the field, Young averaged just 2.8 catches and 39.0 yards per game. He at least averaged a career-best 2.30 yards per route last year. Young goes 6’5, 218 pounds with deceptive speed and quickness. His route running needs work, but the size and early-career production make Young worth monitoring.
What They're Saying
Dane Brugler, The Athletic (The Beast): “Overall, Young is a big-framed athlete with fluid, long strides and the strong hands needed to consistently come down with the rock. He is an attractive option for an NFL team seeking a player who’s stylistically similar to Courtland Sutton.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Colbie Young joins a Bengals’ depth chart that has their top three WRs locked in with Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Andrei Iosivas. He will compete with Mitchell Tinsley and Charlie Jones for the No. 4 WR spot on the team.
He offers no real redraft value.
Dynasty Impact
Young should make the Bengals roster, but his ceiling will be capped by the depth chart. Young’s lack of overall production profile also doesn’t create confidence that he will become a fantasy contributor.
Young could be stashed on a taxi squad in deep dynasty leagues (just in case he emerges after an injury in front of him in the depth chart. But, it isn’t worth spending a rookie pick on Young.
