The Los Angeles Rams selected Miami WR CJ Daniels in Round 6 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Daniels is already 24 after spending six years in college. That run included a torn right ACL in the spring of 2022. Daniels finally broke out for 1,064 yards and 10 scores in his fourth season at Liberty before transferring to LSU for the 2024 campaign. He finished just fourth on that team with 42 catches and 480 yards. Daniels was better at Miami this past year, ranking third in catches (50) and yards (557) and second in TDs (7). His 33.8% dominator rating ranked ninth among 49 WRs invited to the Combine. But his 1.73 yards per route ranked 37th. And this all came as a 23-year-old, sixth-year college player. Daniels is a fine route runner with passable ball skills. But there’s no standout trait to his game. He seems unlikely to develop into a real fantasy factor.
What They're Saying
Draft Sharks Rookie Guide: “Daniels brings NFL size and dependable ball skills. He converted 11 of 17 contested targets in 2025 and shows refined route craft from the slot and perimeter. He lacks top-end speed, though, and isn’t a dynamic tackle-breaker.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Daniels showed sure hands and good route running, but he doesn’t really stand out. He will have an uphill battle to make the Rams roster.
He will compete for the No. 5 WR spot with Konata Mumpfield and Xavier Smith.
Dynasty Impact
Daniels shouldn’t be selected in rookie drafts, despite ending up with HC Sean McVay on the Rams. There certainly is a chance Daniels doesn’t make the roster, and even if he does, it would require multiple injuries in front of him to be relevant this year and beyond.
