The Jets appeared to settle on Jason Sanders as their kicker earlier this week when they waived Cade York on Tuesday. But Sanders missed his lone extra-point attempt in Friday night's preseason finale against the Giants, and his lone FG attempt fell short from 54 yards out. That could motivate the team to work out more kickers ahead of the regular-season opener.

But the think is we're not going to panic and we're going to make sure that we make the right decision to make sure we either fix those issues or we get the right person in there. But Jason has been good for us. He's been good in practice. I'm going to evaluate that and see exactly what direction we'll go."

Sanders spent seven years as Miami's kicker before a hip injury cost him the entire 2025 season. That history plus his practice performance might well be enough to keep him in place with the Jets to open the season.
But Glenn's uncertainty plus an offense that no one expects to rank among the league's top half make this a situation to avoid as you're choosing a kicker right now.
The concern shrinks, of course, if you play in a league with team kickers. But you should seek a more stable option if you're drafting specific players at the position.
