Dolphins QB Malik Willis posted a season-best QB4 fantasy finish in Sunday’s upset win over the Jets.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Passing volume remained low for Willis, who attempted only 21 passes with Miami playing from ahead or tied all game. But that didn’t matter alongside his 9.9 yards per attempt and a pair of TDs to rookie WR Caleb Douglas.
First, Willis hit Douglas from 7 yards out on a well-thrown end zone ball. Later, Douglas did most of the work on a 63-yard catch-and-run along the sideline. His strong passing day came despite facing pressure on 50% of his dropbacks. Only four QBs saw a higher rate in Week 7.
Willis even added his third rushing TD of the year on a scramble from the 2 yard-line. He’s now scored in back to back weeks and is up to three carries inside the 5 yard-line for the season.
Now, Willis’ low volume figures to stick around going forward. While Douglas returned from a multi-week ankle injury, the Fins received another strong game from Ollie Gordon (25 carries, 103 yards, 1 TD). Expect him to remain the focal point of the offense.
However, as we saw today, Willis has the run/pass ability to deliver more QB1 lines. Once you get past a tough Week 8 date vs. New England, Willis will enter the ninth most favorable QB strength of schedule.
